This is the best hood pin install video I have seen. This guy did a fantastic job. Thanks for the video.

I just installed these on my 2016 Challenger Scat Pack after watching your video. It was scary drilling into my Shaker hood, but if you follow the step by step instructions in this video, you won’t have any problems and you’ll love the outcome. Thanks for making this video 👍😀👍

Thanks for the video. It takes a lot of the fear out of drilling holes in my hood. I have a question and a couple of suggestions. Question: Is the piece with the adhesive backing made of metal pr plastic? I would like to make the whole kit matte black and want to know if I could powdercoat it or if I need to paint it. If it is metal, what type of metal is it and all the other metal pieces? Suggestions: While the video is very informative, it and many other videos on your channel are at a resolution of 240p. 240p! This makes it difficult to see the details. I was filming things back in 2007 on my blackberry phone that had a higher resolution. It's almost 2018 what are you guys filming with, a potato? While it may be okay to leave the exposed metal surfaces alone my ocd would force me to use some color matching touch up paint just so I could sleep at night. Also, again it may be fine but I would have to prepare the surface for the adhesive better. You just had a low tack tape on there and were touching it with your hands. While you did wipe it with a cloth you could be just pushing the low tack adhesive, dirt and oils around. I would have to wipe it down with some 91% isopropyl alcohol and then wipe it down with a 3m adhesion promoter pad. This would ensure a proper bond and my own sanity. All in all a very helpful video so thanks for putting it out there. Also, thanks for always promptly shipping parts to my house when I order from your site. Best Regards: Rick

Regarding pin height adjustment, do you leave any clearance between the torsion pin and scuff plate? Or set pin height to where they make contact with Jo clearance? Just installed mine, thanks to the help of your video, but am wondering about that if you don’t mind.

Aluminum DOES corrode btw. Take the extra couple of minutes to paint the bare metal. Rust is only one type of corrosion.

Thanks for the video !!! I just did this with the MOPAR hood pins I bought off you. Used on a fiberglass hood for a 2014 Challenger.....I drilled the first hole in slow reverse then the 1 1/4" hole saw in forward with gentle pressure. As a note the MOPAR hood pins say use 1" hole saw for the plastic which I did and way too small for the grommets....use 1 1/4" like you did. also for some reason I had to grind off over 1/4" of threads for the pins to thread down far enough...is that normal????

I had the top of my hood painted matte black and a hood pin kit installed on my new 2012 Ram Express shortbed single cab 4x4 . It came out great. But i buy replacement parts from Detroit Muscle as they are real. Mr. GASKET is garbage from China.

The hood pin kit keeps the hood from popping open during hard launches, especially at the drag strip.
dude ever used a hole saw before? wtf.. looks tacky as hell too.. "adhesive" .. hahaha and he says "im not worrying about it corroding" hahahaha corrosion occurs when dissimilar metals are touching for extended periods of time, not when bare metal is exposed to the elements.... get someome who knows what they are doing for these videos.. smh
@moparnation22357 жыл бұрын
sorry its not to your standard, thats the install procedure, all Challenger hoods are aluminum and will not corrode, we have installed at least a 100+, some are 4 or 5 years old now with no issue, also these where actually crash tested by Mopar for FCA
