After 65 years of Chinese occupation, Tibet’s global freedom score has dropped to zero, while China promotes a false image of a 'Happy Tibet' through organized tourist visits and influencer campaigns. Exiled Tibetans and journalists, who have long served as a bridge for Tibetans inside Tibet, face growing challenges due to China’s crackdown, including arrests and surveillance. China's propaganda and transnational repression spread fear, disempowering exiled Tibetans. Reporting on Tibet has become increasingly dangerous, with some exiled Tibetans being pressured into silence. Kunleng host Tsering Kyi invited Pema Tso, an exiled journalist and director of *Tibet Times*, an independent Tibetan newspaper, to discuss these challenges and the current situation.
