All platy fish can breed with each other they are just different patterns and colors, Platy may also breed with swordtails.

Platies will interbreed with other platies. When I breed platies, I got a lot of mixed colored ones since their parents were two different colors.

Wow, I'm impressed. This is the first video I've ever seen on this channel. When I first saw it, I thought "Oh great, someone wanting views by getting fish, they probably didn't even cycle their tank." It definitely surprised me. I'm glad I clicked on the video and gave it the benefit of a doubt. Very well informed about the fish ^-^ I've owned 5 fish tanks myself for years and years, multiple generations of platys.

You should try to head up to Washington to do a collab with Cory,Jimmy,Bob,Mike,and Rob. That Would be cool! Also I live In Washington, It rains a lot, but it's nice! Have 20 tanks and 3 ponds(Love Cory's store! Every time I go I at least get 3 things, items or fish, even when I go just to look. Can't help myself lol)

I have bought so many different color platy`s and all colors as well as fancy platy`s will breed with regular I have blue platy`s and got 3 different red males 1 fancy and a year later all my platy`s are all red and blue. I`m going to get other color males as my males have all gone by breeding themselves to death .Like your video`s as I do love the platy`s and have been a fish owner for 40 years know. I started at 10 and as I`m an Indian after meeting my real parents found out I`m fish clan so to grow up hateing to eat fish and always having a tank with different fish over the years it was cool to find out that like Irish/scotish clans our clans ae the same concept to the fact you don`t marry or eat your clan.Great vidio Have you ever had Corycats?BEST FISH EVER!!!!they love a school and spend all day and nite just cleaning,they like sand as they have wiskers that can get damaged on stones but my gravel is so old and soft I have 8 that I`d usually get 2 or 3 at a time as they come in many colors too.I did the peco`s wich mine grew to over 10 inchs long in my 45 gallon tank so I found a young guy like yourself and he had 3 hudge tanks so I missed them for about 6 months but knew they needed a bigger tank and just wated them happy,as a young girl I had the Siamese algy eatters both these bottom feeder I found pooped a lot wich makes the corycats so cool plus they blink there the best fish ever but they need friends I found this out after just buying 1.I`d buy more but my tank isn`t big enough.being it`s 2019 I`d send you snails as I have way to many but I`m sure your good by know.

Nice tanks! And yes, the will interbreed! I have a blue wag that mated with a red wag, a sunburst that mated with the same red wag, & a pink twinbar that mated with an orange swordtail!!

I got two ten gallon tanks on a stand like yours! Someone didn't want it anymore and had so much stuff in it! There was even a new filter and some gravel, a giant piece of drift wood, a fake log, some fish food, and there was a dead African dwarf frog in it. 😀🤢

I breed plays there awesome my favorite are blue mickey mouse and the black tipped sunset my breeding pair of sunsets are almost ready she's been pregnant for a couple of weeks now

Quick way to tell if fish can breed or not together is to look at the scientific name if the first one it's a same they can they can breed but the babies might not be sterile( ex. Molly and guppies). If both are the same then they're the same thing it's just different colors.

Omg I feel like such a ditz. I went to Petco and got 2 plattys and 2 black Molly’s. Went home and put them in their tank. Watched them for a bit and saw how cute it was that my black mollies and sunburst platties would stay next to the fish who were the same color as them. It’s been 4 days and I’m just now realizing THE PETCO PERSON GAVE ME 3 PLATTYS AND 1 MOLLY. My other black “molly” is a FRIGGING PLATTY. I was wondering why the black molly was so much bigger than her. I don’t know what to do. I may take the molly back because I feel bad he’s all alone.
