Passed my test today with 2 minors - cannot stress enough how helpful this channel was. You are easily my most-watched YT Driving Instructor so shout out to you. Wishing you nothing but happiness and prosperity in this life.

I could watch Mahwish and Aman videos all day long! I love the random stuff Mahwish comes off with and then watching Aman trying to comprehend it!...Top Tier Instruction with brilliant driving. This is one of the best channels on youtube...no competition! P.S. Aman. Any updates on Erin or has she burnt out all the clutches in London. Every time i check your new video, I m sorta hoping for a title "Erin is back to see if she will pass the mock" All the best and stay safe.

You did really well today Mahwish, those off/near side turns are scary when you first start with them, it's good that you said you were a bit scared honesty is always best. The inconsiderate drivers don't help, but we deal with them every day.

To be fair to Mawish the view on the approach to the big roundabout is restricted with the fence on her right making planning the approach harder. Where the lorry flashed it's lights its sometimes worth checking thst they don't give a hand signal to stop especially if you can't see. A bit like a banksman. If they signal for you to stop it usually means they can see something you can't see. Creep and lean forward or move about in your seat

This video comes at the best timing!! This morning I was going right at a crossroad, entering a dual carriageway, there's no marking on the ground but the road is wide so I decided to go by offside - but since I'm not confident enough I guess I stopped a bit too early then the long truck passed me with head-shaking. 😂 Thanks to your video, now I know how to deal with it and can do better next time!

If you struggle to remember nearside and offside, it's all about the kerb. Nearside is the side of the car nearest the kerb, the left (passenger side). Offside is the side of the car opposite to the kerb, the right (driver side). So a nearside-to-nearside turn means the left of your car passes close to the oncoming drivers left side (you turn in-front of each other). And an offside-to-offside turn means the right of your car passes close to the oncoming drivers right side (you turn behind each other).

A thing I noticed at 10:21 she isn’t using the complete ball of the foot to press the clutch down. It’s barely the toe end being used, so she does not have sufficient pressure on the clutch because of which it comes up too quick.

Learning in automatic cars can be a negative. Don't choose to learn in an automatic because it's "easier", do manual, you'll be better prepared.

The only thing I feel you need to work on apart from lane discipline is planning. You know what to do with the prompts. So before you get to the part you want to do something like the junction or roundabout or change lanes etc have a little talk through the steps in your head and visualise yourself doing plus also visualise where other will be. It will mean you have a plan of action get there and go this is how imagined which will then mean you can relax and not get all flustered. A lot of it is just understanding what others will do.

Nearside and offside really messed with my brain when I was learning 😅 I have a licence now but was learning last year, it is VERY nerve wracking learning that for the first time! Even now as a licence holder, I still have a 50% mindset that I'm doing it right 🤣 mostly I rely on the other car's positioning to help me out if there aren't any markings. The bigger the junction , the easier it is but even then I'm like "Errrrrrm 😳 I think I'm doing it right"

@@wrightwoodwork True 😄 I always approach those situations like a snail just to make sure I'm not steering into it the wrong way and usually let the oncoming car decide for me 🤭
@wrightwoodwork

@GGMattt with time, you will generally figure out what people do at that particular junction and won't nerd to wait to see what they do and will do automatically. The hardest junctions are your staggered that can be challenging, and if going straight across and there is a car opposite, wanting to turn right there, probably the most challenging as everyone does differently. The key thing is eye contact and creep and look to check they will let you go . As long as you are ready to go yrou can have the space and stubborn you'll be fine . If you creep and they stay still they will let you go yet if you creep and they also creep just let the go. The others thing is don't just think about where the car is but move your body inside the car . Say you doing nearside lean towards the right as if peaking around the side of a building or try to look through other vehicles if you can

Hi Aman :) Thank you very much for this lesson. The situation at the junction (with flashing lorry) is a good lesson about observation. The lorry driver checked the other lane is it clear and safe, and THEN flashed with lights. Observation and signalling is the key for the safe driving :)

Well jokes apart, thank you dad for teaching me all about cars and bike's. It was a great time when you're with me.i miss the old days 😞

@lholland5212
@lholland5212 6 ай бұрын
Yes but it’s probably not advised. You would need to speed up to probably around 20mph depending on the car.. which you shouldn’t be doing 20mph in 1st gear. You would hear the engine going crazy telling you to shift up a gear before you could go quick enough to put it into 3rd gear. 1st gear is for moving off only - once the car has got a small amount of momentum you should shift into second. I would only stay in 1st gear if I was doing about 5mph. I drive in second gear if I’m doing around 10mph but again depends on the car.

Aman I suggest you schedule lessons for learner’s more frequently. Been seeing Mahwish for quite a while now. Muscle memory only develops when you do it more frequently so the muscles don’t forget the pedal movements, hand eye coordination etc , you end up learning much quicker. I learnt in 2 weeks on my own car without having dual controls (just my dad yelling lol) , I’m quite comfortable in rush hour Mumbai traffic.Meanwhile my mother isn’t comfortable after 2 times a week lessons which have been on for approx 2 months.
