You're a very adventurous girl!! Brilliant! But please invest in your safety and purchase a personal rescue beacon, they are quite expensive (roughly £250) but if you ever stumbled down a foothole or slipped etc and broke a leg/hip/ankle etc and you can't get mobile phone signal, you risk not being found before succumbing to exposure or injuries. For the sake of £250 it's not worth the risk. Dad talk over, now, go have an amazing life full of adventure and exploration!

Good advice, defo invest in the rescue beacon. When you are young you feel invincible, but a simple fall as happened could leave you in serious problems. Like insurance you hope you never get to use it, but nothing better to have if you need it.

What I like about her video is the fact that she takes chances on her journey and she keep things natural and simple. She didn't bring a battery generator along and a bunch of unnecessary things. She has alot of courage and brings fun and excitement to her videos.Love the fact when things completely fails she knows when to pack up and go to the car and start over again with a plan.Im watching her play list. The more I watch her the more I appreciate her time letting her viewers know what it's really like to camp alone in the woods, and mountains during the calm and the storm.

Thank you for taking us along this challenging hike. Quite a learning experience. Something to consider for increasing your enjoyment of future hikes is to find a local orienteering club and join it. Benefits include navigation practice, developing an eye for the best routes, managing safe travel through bad terrain, and more. It would also open up more possibilities for hikes that may have been more challenging than your current comfort level tolerates. Take care, WildBeare.

Planning a long cycle trip next year probably with a lot of wild camping, I know I can sleep and be very comfortable in my hammock under a tarp, but I need a tree less option and need to work up the enthusiasm to test my tarp sleeping on the ground in bad weather, I did it a few times many years ago in summer but I'm a lot older now. I find your positivity is quite inspiring and I will get out and do it.

I am almost at a loss for words. I say almost because no one who knows me would ever believe I’ve run out of words. LOL. But I am absolutely in awe. The beauty of this landscape is breathtaking. Everywhere you turn, every vignette in this wild area is a picture postcard. I’ve never been to the UK but it is at the top of my list. And the beauty doesn’t end there. The incredible beauty of Claire, only surpassed by her amazing, incredible spirit. She shares her concerns and vulnerabilities - which only add depth to her character - and then makes it clear that she relishes the challenges and is determined to face them head-on and overcome any obstacle. It’s admirable and humbling and inspiring and worthy of poetry. Before this goes total fanboi or becomes a growing thesaurus of superlatives, I will simply say thank you for inviting us along. I wish you the very best of all things wild. Take care lass.

Reminds me of the Billy Connolly monologue about the old songs about skipping through Heather etc, clearly being written by people who had never tried walking through the stuff in their life, easy way to break an ankle or end up knee deep in a bog! If solo trekking, best to stay to the paths and not risk it, the poles help a lot, I wouldnt go up the hills now without them, even if someone is young and fit, they reduce fatigue and reduce the chance of injury, great video.
