I have never seen a tire come off the rim so easy. I use a long 2x4 lever hooked under the bumper of my truck with the tire on the ground and the right length block between the lever and the tire. It can be awkward, two people can do it more easily. I use soapy water to soak in and get the bead broken but then use any brand of shortening, (Crisco) to lube the tire bead and the rim to remove the tire from the rim and reinstall. Soapy water seems to cause rust on the rim. Once the bead is broke, the tire comes off by hand with the Crisco.

Sure would like to see you make a video using the Crisco technique.

Nice video. I've fought these things quite a few times on small equipment and wheelbarrows. I pretty much do it like you showed . I have a couple tiny C -clamps that hold the partial bead in place when I am alone so I can work the other side. I don't like the fire method, so run a hold-down strap around the perimeter of the tire, winch tight and add 15-20 lbs of pressure, too much and it's hard to get the strap off.
@jackmorgan7095 ай бұрын
If you're tossing the tire try this: cut the tire all the way around through the sidewall on both sides with a sharp knife - this basically removes the tread. Then unseat the bead (can still be difficult) and cut perpendiular to the two circles of rubber that remain using a knife and a dremel tool where the tire meets the rim (there's usually metal wire in here). I tried every technique on youtube and this method could have saved me hours of blood, sweat and tears.

A hint for those worried about the brake clean and lighter method of seating the tire bead, most of the time if you stand the tire up vertically and slightly push down on the tire tread as you add air, it will seat. But that's when you are using a compressor. If you are using a manual pump like a bike pump, it may not seat. Also... you don't need soapy water... just squirt some dish soap on your finger and run it around the bead to make it slick.

Yea it looks so easy but you can see. The tire he is removing looks like is brand new one ☹️ it will be much harder to remove tire out the rim . If has been mounted for several years 😱

I have never seen a tire blown up to set the bead. BAM! Loved it. I think you said you were spraying brake fluid, but I think you meant starting fluid/ether? Great video. Thanks!

H. Hall , hey thanks hope it helps! Anything highly combustible works ! Brake fluid is just what I had handy. Doesn't always work on the first try but is the most affective method I've used to quickly get it done. The straps and other ways just seem like a hassle to me.
