Sloppy Turtle, if you want to do that in your house, that's fine but it's not cost effective to use 20' hoses everywhere, it kind of defeats the purpose and to put the inlets at 30" off the floor is fine but one aspect you fail to recognize is aesthetics, matching the outlet height makes them less noticeable. I've installed 100's of the Hide a Hose version and the Chameleon which is a superior product in my opinion. We've installed these in average sized homes all the way up to 20,000+ sq ft custom homes, the longer hoses are not a problem as long as the piping is done correctly.

I know everyone is trying to keep job security, but trying to find help in certain industries stinks. It would only depend on those factors you said if I have more than 1 inlet. I have a single inlet with 50 foot of retractable hose and 50 feet of vacuum piping. It is a very simple answer if you have over 10 years experience in the central vacuum field. Just like how I can do the same with my 22 years of HVAC contractor experience.

Hi Glenn - thank you for clarifying your system would only be 1 inlet. It certainly does make a big difference in the power unit depending on how many valves are on the system. For a 1 inlet system we would suggest at minimum a DB7000 unit from H-P brands VACUFLO, Element or Dirt Devil.

Hello and quick question, i love the retractable hose idea but what if my current system has 110v through the hose to power my vacuum head? i would like to maintain my 110v through my hose so is there a system where that is possible? Thank you

Hi Pankaj - thanks for the question. Unfortunately, electric 110v powerheads are not compatible with retractable hoses. We do have battery-powered brushes you can use. Or, you can try a hybrid system, where you use a retractable hose in part of your home and still use your electic powerheads in the rest.
