I had a lot of request for these two products, so I purchased them, along with some Shark hamsticks. In the future video I will be giving them all away. Just my way of saying thanks.
Chameleon has continued to impress me with their products, although I am a little late to the party because there are a lot of hams that use their products. I currently own the Chameleon P loop 2.0 and the MPAS 2.0 and love them both.

Have to say extremely well made and perfect for those of us in HOA Condos. Our Deck is infant and we have no yard to speak of. Haven't been on HF now in 4 years and it's making me crazy. Still continue to test and get new folks out but I'm like the benched QB on the team. I have a SW antenna out there and this setup would be perfect. No one would say a thing about it. I have a brab=nd new 7300 coming this week. Yeah I just bit the bullet and pulled the trigger. Win, lose or Draw, I'll be snagging this. Even the Quad so I could sit on 80 and 40, think I'm alright, have to go back and make my 57 Y.O. brain work a little. Those are the bands I always worked. Every now and then 20 and 17 as well if conditions were right but I'd sit up all night and work 80. I'd love to start again, best part I'm going to.

Shark Distributing whips are good quality. I have heard the set screws don't strip out as easy as the MFJ hamsticks do. I get great signal reports on 20 and 40 meters with my mobile setup IC-7100 with a IC-7300 microphone and adapter, LDG IT-100 tuner and a Diamond K400-3/8C2 mount.

73 guys. I have the MFJ mini-dipole for 1 band at a time and a pair of their hamsticks for all of the bands. My tripod is one of the ebay army surplus tentpole constructs. So I can use 1 hamstick in my car's trunk mount or a pair of them on any band. The quad mount looks intriguing for getting 2 hf bands up at one time. I may upgrade to that, thanks for the demo. @@HamRadioConcepts No, I like to stay dry and I love my body the way it is, despite severe Fibromyalgia.... I tinker in electronics, Arduino, 3D printers, laser cutter, lathe and welding .... I love to fix stuff and help others also, like handicapped friends on wheelchairs, that can't afford to hire someone.... You can see little about me here: tonysfun.com/ and my youtube channel: kzbin.info/aero/PLv52A7rm-UViZEOlzZfZOB9Gl8cjS3ze5 When I can I also go to clubs, including our local Ham Radio Club.... In the past, Ham Radio clubs were making stuff - that is why I started there in 1969 as a teenager, in Czech Republic, under a nice guy named Mr. Helebrant, who spoke several languages, including English, using his Ham Radios he made. And now, after 50 years I rekindle my interests in electronics also, but the local club don't make stuff no more. It is sad to see talented people not soldering stuff, like they did in the past. People just buy made stuff and lost interest in the soldering part of the hobby. But I do shows and invite people here, so we can play with electronics and make something that demonstrate a capacitor and resistor and how changing the values changes the blinking LED's - their speed turning one off and the other on .... Lovely location - not a fan of the concept of HOAs but you can see why people want them. I saw the inside of the Spider and there's no balun - interested in this for WARC bands + 1 other but just didn't see how it it would work to coax but then again I guess a ham stick on a magmount doesn't need a transformer either. That's really cool. Thanx for showing us. HOA problems? No HOA in the world cal stop anyone from 'erecting' an antenna called the SAD-40. That antenna is using the same concept as my Michigan Cacti, which is a 4 band vertical with parallel elements. No traps, etc. Basically it's a vertical half-of-a-fan-dipole if that makes sense. No interraction between elements. 73 OM

Hi Eric..on that HOA..and in the attic..well, two years ago I could have installed the double opposed but in fall last year, a full set of solar panels up on the roof..so a tip up and down per use mast with a couple long wires or dipole at roughly 21 feet, or a vertical for local club V/U chat or packet late night. Arizona just south of San Tan Valley...is the retirement soon. 73 kb8qlz Gary

@8:45 if you look at these inerts, you could .... Mark of where the split of the two element connection start. ( between the black and red connection on the bottom ) and I would maybe try two 40 ore 20 meter hamsticks and attach them to the blue and black connections and have a directional horizontal V antenna. And maybe you could try this, just for giggles. See if that could work. Anyway thanks for sharing this video.

Is it durable enough to be used as a base antenna in the northeast.... Would you see a higher performance using the D40 Cushcraft Rotatable Dipole on 40m Compared to The Spider on 40m The extra bands are icing on the cake but I am mainly interested with 40

Are the hamsticks up high enough to radiate primarily in a broadside pattern? I've been told that if a dipole is lower than its optimal height that it tends towards the omnidirectional. Not perfectly omni, of course, but not completely broadside, either.

I had a lighting strike at my house. I might go that way to replace the g 5 r v. it hit at the ladder line. it was not hooked to any thing. but it took out a Drake receiver and a free play radio that I had in there and then it traveled to the living room and fried my mates tower computer. I just wonder what it did to the inside of my drake receiver. it did not hurt my 706 or power supply and it did not bother another receiver that was under the Drake. sorry to rattle on but your video was great I listened to it in four parts. had to cut six lots of grass washed the dishes and broke a belt on the old tractor I live in southern Ill so I know I won't get one but I sure giga arts have them.

Interesting they isolated the ground side whips from the metal case. It also looks like the SO-239 ground is isolated from the metal case. Did they do that in case it was mounted to a metal pole which would add antenna length to the ground side? That would make sense.

Here is a sick question. Do you think it would be possible to get TWO of the CHA Quad hubs, maybe mount one above the other by x feet (maybe 2-3 feet?) and then you could put a pair of 10M ,20M, 40M, 75M on one quad hub and put 6M, 15M, 30M, 80M on the other. Thus giving you basically all the bands aside from 160M, 17M, and 12M on one rotatable pole. Ideally it would be on one coax, but I guess even having 2 coax feeds and a switch might not be too bad.
