I have 14 Jackson's in an open area together. They're doing fine with each other no signs of aggression any more once they got familiar with each other. 3 of the 5 females are expecting. We are able to hold and handle in our hands our jacKson with no problems.

Jackson’s chameleons are good at hiding their stress. Your story is very common and then comes the crash and the sick chameleons. You are not the exception. You are insisting on being another statistic. All I can do is share that I have heard this story over and over from people and it doesn’t end well. I wish chameleons would live in harmony because that would make my and everyone else’s life so much easier. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Your chameleons would be much happier if you respected what chameleons are instead of forcing them to adjust to what you want them to be.

What has worked for my Jacksons female in keeping her SCREEN CAGE enclosure cool enough at night in my AZ home is this. Cut a hole in the top of the cage just so your FOGGER HOSE fits in up to the first rib. I like to put it in the back corner, opposite my lamp. AT NIGHT crank it to 40-50% and cover the enclosure top down with a blanket or towel, leaving about 30% of the bottom of the enclosure open. My girl absolutely loves this ❤ lmk your results :)

Thank you so much for this video I live in Wisconsin Jackson chameleons aren't very common I've loved chameleons my entire life but I finally got my 1st one as a pet a year ago I got availed chameleon My local pet store for the 1st time in a long time got a Jackson chameleon in stock I was wanting to buy it for the last 2 months But every time I wanted to pull the trigger I thought maybe I wasn't ready for another chameleon Five days ago I finally decided this is it this is the day I'm going to get him And I went in and he wasn't doing so good They took him out of his cage and he was just laying in the hand ready to die like you described in the video The next air went in just a check up on him and he did sadly pass I wish I would have bought him a couple months ago like I wanted to Maybe I could have saved him from getting stressed out I did go to a reptile expo yesterday and get a new Jackson chameleon And I'm going to make absolute Sure that I take care of them properly and follow everything in all of your videos is best as I can But the way they were housing him at the pet store was incorrect it was put in a veiled chameleon cage with veiled chameleon temps And humidity I did let the people at the pet store know all the things you described in this video in a little bit more so if they ever decided to get another Jackson chameleon in the future they can make sure to follow these things and hopefully prevent another Jackson chameleon from dying

Quick question. I was looking to get a Jackson or panther chameleon. I've had veileds with great success indoors. I was considering an outdoor setup here in Tampa Florida. What chameleon would work best and what is the best way to keep them Hydrated during the dryer months?

Hey!!!! Great video!!! I am reading the module right now and learning some great things that I did not know!!!! I am so so glad that I found you!!! I want to be a successful chameleon owner but mostly I want my dude to live a long happy life! I had a veiled before my Jackson and they are so different in so many ways! My veiled passed away from parasite that he had most likely when I got him at the pet store! 😭 we tried a few antibiotics but nothing really helped for long💔 I done a lot of research before I got my Jackson to make sure I had everything right! The only issue I really having is keeping my humidity up, it is staying around 20% I am thinking about using a shower curtain to cover his side of his cage at night? And maybe using a humidifier? I run a fogger pretty much all night now 12am to 6am

I live in a pretty dry If state myself and I have troubles with humidity What I did is I went to my local hardware store and purchased the shrink plastic wrap the insulation that you put over your windows in the Winter and use a heat gun to shrink it up And I basically turned my mesh cage into a hybrid cage I also have a miss king And keeping live plants is important to help also keep the humidity up and I also use a fogger throughout the night With all those improvements to the cage that I made I was able to figure out a way to keep it around 30 to 40% humidity during the day and 70 to 90% at night If you would like some help I can give you my contact info

Great video I got a chameleon last month and sadly he passed away earlier this week. We are saddened that he died. We didn’t know that shedding takes a lot from them. I want to get another one but want to read more on them and make sure i will be ready for it.

Hello good sir ! I recently got myself a male xantho breed from a town i visited the lizard exhibition there, there were many sellers with many species. The thing is, I got him in the enclosure, not disturbing him, just keeping the humidity and temperature at perfect conditions which he is supposed to have, i got him some live plants I looked up on web which are not harmful for chameleons and he all the time keeps sleeping, doesnt even want to eat & to be honest i dont know if he drank something from leaves or glass since im at work until like 4pm and when i come home he just sleeps.. I thought it might be because I got him recently and he needs to get used to new place but still it kinda scares me that he keeps his eyes closed, doesnt move much and doesnt want to eat. From what the seller said he should be like 5 months old. Loving your videos, helped me a lot to set up all to give him what he needs. I saw on web that someone had his jackson not eating for a week and he was just fine then he started eating normally but still im scared cuz I dont want to loose him and if theres something I can do I want to do it but im out of options .. Also his back looks like he's starthing to shred skin. Not swollen eyes nor even em flat like ones, also mouth looks completely normal so i thing it should not be eye or mouth infection but u are pro .. If u know of anything, please help

Update: today he became a bit active, ate 6 cockroaches coated in vitamins & minerals and started licking water from wall and leaves, also he seems much less scared since he started look around and doesnt seem asleep all the time 😊❤ also his colours changed from dark green & brown to light green with the yellow stripe over his body and the blue spot behind head and lower jaw 😊❤

Regard the cohabitation: what if they are a couple male and female chameleons? Is it considered as a negative cohabitation ?
@ChameleonAcademy
@ChameleonAcademy 18 күн бұрын
Chameleons will get together and mate and then break up. Though there are instances where the male will stick around and guard the female from other males. This is not a bonding, though. So the answer is that male and female should be brought together only for mating and then put back into their individual cages. A visual barrier between them is also a good idea.

I am sorry to say that most chameleons won’t develop much of a relationship with you. Though they will learn who you are and should not feel threatened by you. Especially if you bring them good things to eat and offer treats with your hand. Then they will start to look forward to you visiting them. At least until they have their treat! After that they are done with you.

Jacksons can be a lil more sketchy on husbandry but if you know wat your doing. They can survive in 100 degrees but it take ALOT more misting on them. And i can speak on that cause i been breeding jacksons for a very long time.

I would rather spend time focusing on the ideal husbandry that would be relevant to anyone wanting to create the best life for their chameleon. Husbandry that pushes them to the limits of their tolerance zone is interesting information, but sharing those techniques will result in lots of dead chameleons and miserable survivors.
