Having sound would have been helpful. Countersinking tips for large chamfers in holes requiring step over due to smaller tooling 1. Choose countersink chamfering tool 2. Cut Parameters: • Compensation: WEAR, or your choice of type • Comp direction: Left • Tip comp: Tip • Stock to leave: 0.0 • Contour type: 2D chamfer • Width: hole edge to csk edge distance (very important) 3. Depth Cuts: Enter the choice of step down per pass. Keep tool down. Depth cut order by contour. DO NOT select tapered walls in most cases. 4. Lead in/out: • Entry: Tangent - length=0, Radius=20%, Sweep=90, use entry point (must be in geometry). • Exit: Same as Entry 5. Multi Passes: Choose your number of passes for side depth of cuts. Keep tool down. 6. Linking Parameters: • Clearance: 2.0 and Absolute • Retract: .25 or your choice and Absolute • Feed Plane: .2 or your choice and Absolute • Top of Stock: Usually 0.0 and Absolute • Depth: 0.0 (very important)
