chamois silk painting | without Gutta [silk-painting for beginners]

This video is for those who say chamois silk is difficult to paint without gutta.
I have tried to paint chamois silk without gutta in this video.This is my first experience.
of painting chamois silk.Chamois silk is a tricky fabric but not a difficult stuff.So if someone wants to paint this silk,he has to follow some rules.Watch this video very carefully and learn how to paint chamois silk without gutta.

Whenever you want to draw on silk, astretch the fabric on the frame tightly then do the drawing

thank u so much yes there are lots of ways to paint silk without gutta but i believe in practice and just accept the challenge :) and u kw in pak materials are big prob here so we can try to manage it.

I am so keen to try it without the gutta. I want to paint an Indian saree, butthe thought of using guta and then painting is a big process. So if we use less paints diluted with water and use that forst, without dark colors that helps? someone also suggested using starch and then painting on it?

Yes you can try this but 1st try on piece of fabric thn go for saree. Its also depends on colors brand my colors are little thick.but i also use with water.practice and patienceis very important :) best of luck

Kindly let me know that which fabric is best for dupatta and scarves specifically for silk painting because when I use mixed fabric it makes my fabric lil bit stiff.

Pure fabric is good for silk painting.u can use pure chiffon,pure crinkle chiffon and china silk for dupatta and grip silk, pure chiffon,chamois silk, china silk thick one for shirt. If u want to paint local fabric choose chiffon only(made in gujranwala)

yes u can use but these paints are transparent.u can use fabric paints plus silk paints but make sure add fabric medium in paints 1:1 ratio and thn apply on organza

Without gutta, your colour will spread out. So apply gutta before painting

Asslamo alaikum sir..... Mujhy guide line chahye k ma professionally pure silk dopatta paint krna chahti hun.... Gutta apply krny ae gutty ma softness ni aa ri.... Apne jo oil pen use kiya ha kia wo gutty ka kaam krta ha? Kia us oil pen ne paint ko spread hony se roka ha..... Or plz mujhy proper guidelines de dijye k gutta ma softness kesy aygi or konsy brand ka acha rahy ga.... I m from Lahore...

Thanks for your message. Gutta hamesha thick hota hay taky jaldi dry ho or us mein cracka na aien. Local brands me kafi guttas market me available hein ap koi b try kar sakti hein lakin acha brand sirf marabu mil sakta hay pakistan mein is silver, golden, black,copper or transparent gutta mil jai ga. Oil based charcoal sirf drawing k liye use karta hon mein uska or koi madsad nahi. Na wo rang ko rokta hay na hi gutta ka kam karta hy

And you should take small amount of paint and paint with thin brush

But at times u need to give washes at broader spaces with sponge or broader brushes Are u using dry fabric or damp?
