What I also didn’t understand is that it’s either get marry right now or break up, why? And what makes me angry and sad is that they ended up cheating on their partners. Fine if they want to separate, they’ll meet someone else perhaps. But why bother breaking up and dating other people and then cheat? It just hurts others. If they could wait for each other and still be together whilst pursuing what they want in life, they could have gotten married in a time where both of them were ready. Idk, I’d argue that proposing/getting married before (both of) you experience at least a full year of life outside of university/living at home/etc is a selfish and childish move, like, idk I’m a big Rory/Logan shipper, and I’m the same age Rory was when she made that decision, and honestly? You wouldn’t catch me even entertaining the idea of marriage rn. Marriage is like, a, we live together, we have a pet, we split holidays with our families, etc kinda milestone, not a “we’ve dated for a few years in school, now we’re leaving let’s tie that knot” kinda milestone 😬 In my relationships where I’ve wanted maturity from others/been asked for it myself, it’s about like, getting a stable job, stop depending on your parents for literally everything (one guy had hand delivered on a tray dinners everyday, like dude, wtf) sort out medication/therapy etc. Not ‘take this relationship seriously and commit rn to the rest of our lives’, more “get yourself to a point where us being together is a team sport not a 3 legged race w/deadweight” 😅

Rory and Logan balanced each other out so well. She helped him to grow up and be independent and Logan was always there for her, but at the same time understood when she needed her space. i agree with saying that rory’s downfall started before she met logan (to me it’s when she slept with dean), but logan never knew rory before she started her descent so never knew how far out of line she was, whereas every time jess showed up he gave her guidance and steered her in the right direction another thing is logan’s presence did definitely make rory’s character worse, every reckless thing she did he approved or at least tolerated, (stealing the boat, letting her drop out, etc) because once again, he never knew to expect better and it exposed her more to the world of entitlement and action without consequences i understand why people like him, but i feel like if you think he’s the one for rory then you’re giving up on rory ever changing

She needs to take more leaps of faith, be more spontaneous do things she doesn't know where it ends or the details already. That is why in the revival they are both in bad straights, Logan never left his fathers business and she is still stubbornly trying to be a journalist when she doesn't actually enjoy it or truly want to. She can't admit it to herself, bc to her following her feelings is reckless, wrong, and so the only time she ever actually acts on them is in regret for what she missed for being so narrow minded in the moment hence why she becomes the other woman with dean.

I just finished watching Gilmore Girls again - can you believe I did NOT like Logan the first time??? But this time around, I truly saw what an amazing boyfriend he was; he pushed her to achieve her dreams and be the best version of herself, even if that meant he couldn’t be in the picture. I love Rory but UGHHH! How could she do that to Logan?? He was the love of her life and, honestly, the only person who truly respected her decisions. Everyone was pissed at Logan because Jess was the one that got Rory back to Yale. However, in my view, 1) Rory was already thinking about going back and 2) Logan respected her choice - he didn't like that she dropped out of school, but it wasn't his place to judge. Logan was always encouraging her to dream big, fly high and achieve her goals (and he would factor her in). Other than that, Dean and Jess were constantly letting her down when it came to romantic gestures, attending Chilton events and the Gilmore parties - things that were extremely important to Rory (even though she didn't like to admit, because she thought that, in doing so, she would be hurting Lorelai's feelings). Logan, on the other hand, was the master of romantic gestures, he surprised her with the coffee cart, the trips to Europe, his visits to the apartment, flowers and a super lovely rockettttt. The fact that he was born into that rich life meant that he was used to parties and events that Rory had to attend (meaning that he knew how to behave and dress - hell he dressed up really nice LOL)! He also gets extra points for having a good relationship with Emily and Richard (something that was crucial to Rory and that Dean and Jess didn't even bothered to have). OH, and we can't forget the endless support that Logan gave to Rory and her family while Richard was in the hospital. To conclude my thought, I'd like to point out that one time in Valentine's weekend when Rory told Lorelai that "these could be THE ONES" (referring to Luke and LOGAN). Anyway, I truly believe that Rory and Logan should've ended up together and that they still will once the baby is born (since Logan is the father). PS: If you know any bit of Logan, you also know that the minute Rory says she loves him back, he would end things with Odette. Ok, I'm done. I needed to write this (even though I know that nobody will read it LOL).

She on the other hand is not as responsible and selfless as her mom usually is (though she is younger, just getting out in to the world so it makes sense she doesn't want to feel like she's settling. Though of course we see that depressing Millennial problem in the revival that all the "You can do whatever you set your mind to! Now go out and conquer the world! Make your passion your career!" didn't quite pan out...

The fact that both Shira and Mitchum were right about Rory guts me. Shira about Rory not knowing or wanting to belong to a family like the Hunztbergers, which fair. And Mitchum about her not having what it took to be a journalist, which the revival proved pretty well.

I think her problem with marrying logan wasn't the marriage, it was california. If he had said we will stay in Connecticut, it would've been fine probably. She gave up her long Harvard dream, because it was "too far away" and went to yale instead. Rory has a problem with moving out, logan hasn't. Edit: also asking someone infront of their entire social community without discussing it first alone with them, is really manipulative and wrong. He wanted her to not have a choice and its really good that she chose herself.

The reason this has always made me mad is because the only actual reason she said no, was because she was still waiting to hear from the New York Times. That was it! She wanted to say yes, everyone knew she did, she just didn’t want to close the door on a possibility yet! I think she should have told him that! That she wants to say yes, but doesn’t want to give up on the New York Times yet and see what he says! Honestly he would have been supportive and when she didn’t get it, he would have been there for her, and then when she got the job for the election, he totally would have been for her doing it! That is why I get mad! She wanted to, but instead of having the conversation she needed to have, she just said no!

Jess will always be my favorite, but Logan and Rory were perfect. Yes, Jess encouraged her to be her authentic self, but she would never have loved him like he deserved and he could have never loved her like she needed. Logan and Rory were on the same level, they both took and gave pretty equally, until the end where Rory straight up stopped giving, while Logan was still willing to give her everything. All in all, Rory was selfish :)

Her life would have been perfect if she had married him. Instead she threw everything away, him included. She lost her job, continuously "forgot" about her boyfriend, had Logan cheating on his fiancé, and then wound up pregnant. The writers really ruined her character when she said no to Logan's proposal.

am i the only one that thinks they aren’t right together and she should end up with jess? they both messed up their relationship. she said no to the engagement, then they had the affair in london, and he was engaged to someone else! if they really were meant to be, logan would’ve gone against his family, and married rory, which would’ve made him happy. they were/are both way too immature. i hated how they both were in relationships in the revival, but they still were going back to each other. logan served his purpose, but i think that ship has sailed. rory and jess never got to finish what they started. jess was the best because he always wanted the best for rory. he was concerned when he met logan because logan wasn’t encouraging her enough. jess called her out when logan didn’t, he encouraged her to go back to yale, he encouraged her to write a book, he cared the most about her. logan and rorys relationship was great and i can see the chemistry, but they’re not right for each other. jess knew her like no one else, he knew her from the beginning, and always wanted her to do her best. when she dropped out of yale and moved into her grandparents house, logan was just saying “it’s temporary,” but right when jess said something, she noticed she was making a mistake, and it wasn’t like her. JESS IS THE ONE!!
