Jess was the absolute best out of everyone she dated, I am fully prepared to defend this with my life. The only problem was that he acted like a punk in the very beginning and had communication issues, which he resolved both, but Rory was already messing her future up by the time the perfect, mature Jess came around. Jess always let Rory be her own person with her own interests, trusted her was ok with her being friends with an ex, and fully encouraged HER dreams, unlike Dean or Logan.

But the maturing process that Jess goes through in Philadelphia after leaving Rory behind, Logan goes through while with Rory and he does it for Rory (or maybe because of her, whichever way you want to see it). Then he goes on to ruin that with a rushed proposal, but oh well, I blame the writers for that because it was very OOC for him.

I don't really think it's right to go into the blame-game here. They were both kids. Jess had a really shitty family situation and had no idea how to process emotions. He was a really toxic person in this relationship and Rory deserved better. That being said, Rory had her share of growing up to do as well. It was a beautiful relationship, but not the right one for either of them..

Man, how ironic is it that without Jess Rory's character got worse while Jess kept evolving without her. At the end he outgrew Rory so much that he became too good for her! Jess is literally the one that got away and it was because of her choice just because she chose married Dean in season 4 and then Logan in season 6. I really do think that Rory loved him the most of the 3 big boyfriends given how short their relationship was and how quickly she fell for him. I think she never forgave him the heartbreak he caused her.
