This is the closest thing I’ve done to a tribute cymbal yet - dedicated to my mentor the great drummer Roger Sellars. The Boptet had 30 year residency at a restaurant in Wellington called The Lido, most of which Roger was in the drum seat for. In his twilight years I would listen Roger swinging away on these tiny 12” hihats. After he passed away I was able to see his entire cymbal collection with no less that 10 12” cymbals, that he mixed and matched to find the perfect combination he played on the gig.
These are unlathed underneath and with an enlarged bell for a bit more projection and clarity. Tiny but no joke!
