Champion Spirit | Mustang GT3 | Ford Performance

Explore Ford Mustang racing history through our latest creation: the Champion Spirit Mustang GT3 livery, a tribute to six decades of racing champions.
Inspired by their victories, this design will make its debut on the track with our IMSA GTD PRO team at Laguna Seca, Weathertech Raceway from May 10th to 12th, before heading to the Detroit Grand Prix on May 31st to June 1st.

Listen, Ford Mustangs were the first cars i've ever- I've ever driven in games when I started in games when i was a toddler. In fact, I was raised with them in the real world. ⭐ The first one was Gran Turismo 2 I think, I forget which year. I drove the Ford Mustang SVT Cobra '99 on Midfield Raceway or High Speed Ring. 💙 I love that one. Then, about 2 or 4 years later, I played Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2. And the first car that was given to me randomly in Quick Race was the red Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R. 🏁 That Mustang is a legend. It was my very first race in the game on the PlayStation 2. It handles really good. Today, I'm racing in Mustangs in various racing games on my PlayStation 2. You know, they've always been famous cars. And um, You know, Racing has always been around, it always will be. At least for the dedication to the Detroit Muscle I've been raised with in cars. 💙🏁

Realistically the original Ford Mustang was no sports car, is was a sporty looking 2 door. Carol Shelby made the Mustang into a sports car. The problems with the structure of those early Mustangs were too many to mention, they could not, in stock form be pushed around a race track without a reasonable chance of seriously harming themselves and whomever dumb enough to track them.
