@@xquisitekhan ECE 22.06 vs ECE 22.05 whose difference is really huge in general. ECE 22.06 has 12 additional safety parameters, among which visors must withstand impacts up to 80 m/sec. Not bad at all I think.

I just want to add my experience to maybe help someone. Coming from a GT AIR 2 I planned to buy a GT AIR 3. Long story short, I returned it after 10 minutes only. The sun visor on the GT AIR 3 goes down if you ride with the clear visor open!!! it even lets air in. very bad quality IMO, Also, side note, it actually seemed worse in terms of noise than the gt air 2. So yeah, if you're like me, stay with the GT AIR 2.

The point is that the GT Air 2 was already a great helmet, but if you don't update it then the competition will catch up and surpass it. A few other brands offered helmets with better noise insulation, airflow and newer safety norms than the GT Air 2, so they made a slight update to keep offering the best helmet they can. What's wrong with that ?

A second Arai? Why would you want that. The Shoei's are better for real life on the road with their drop down sun visor and ratchet chin strap. The Arai's more track focused.

Nice and sober analytical review, thanks for that. It doesn’t seem to be that much different from the II-version. And a plus of €120 for design is pretty hefty, especially considering the week yen. Still, I like Shoei and probably go for a unicolor one.

Genuine question. Why would you buy GT Air 3 when NXR 2 is available? 1. NXR 2 is cheaper than GT Air 3 2. NXR 2 is way lighter than GT Air 3 3. You can use sunglasses in NXR 2 instead of inbuilt SV on GT Air 3 4. Both have superior quality 5. Both are ECE 22.06 6. Both have same results in your testing on Ventilation, Comfort and Noise.

Why can't you use sunglasses with the GT Air3? GT Air3 is suitable for use with glasses. Are sunglasses not glasses? P.S. I have a GT Air3 and wear glasses when driving, so it's perfect for me that I can just lower the sun visor when needed.

I have photosensitive eyes so when going in and out of shade and bright sun the internal visor is a must

About comfort......in Spain shoei does measure your head and you will have the perfect fit. I did it a few weeks ago with my gt air 2 (still for free) and fits perfect now. I suppose the will do it in rest of Europe also. At least when I told him that I'm from Holland he said to me that they do it there a lot.

Neotec is a modulat helmet, GT Air is a full-face. That's the biggest difference. Some noise and weight difference also.

They are honestly pretty much the same besides the CE2206 certification. Our test shows very little innovation from the GT Air 2 to the GT Air 3. So we would recommend the most budget-friendly.

I like your videos but just a quick thing; With ventilation, cool external air is being fed into the helmet. That is the coldest air available for this purpose. A 0-degree difference between internal and external temperatures is literally the best outcome possible. You can’t do better unless you add refrigerated air. So unless you have a fridge-air cooled helmet, all helmets getting a 0-degree difference should get five stars because that is literally the best outcome possible.

Thank you for this review. I wanted to compare this with the LS2 Challenger Carbon. I was a little confused though. In all your graphics, you kept showing the LS2 Challenger as an ECE 22.06 rated helmet. I always thought it was ECE 22.05. Did LS2 upgrade this helment, or did they come out with a new model that I was not aware of? Or maybe there was a mistake in your graphics?

Why not make some helmets with the comm system and some without? I was always a SHOEI user until they went to their proprietary comm systems. I am a Cardo user, don't like Sena at all. Shoei and Sena teamed up and it's all about $$$.

I really don't like the fact that this version weighs heavier than my old gt air 2. It's noticeably heavier. I thought I would be upgrading by buying the new one, but aside from being heavier, there is no real benefit that I can find compared to my old GT Air 2. It's more expensive. And it's absolutely a great helmet, but the GT Air 2 already was, and much cheaper. Somewhat a letdown from Shoei.
