Riverside Lanes in Mount Vernon, Washington had Brunswick Model A's many years ago which ran at this speed. I always thought they were slowed down from the original 'A' speed but in fact this video shows the very first 'speed iteration'. I recall hearing in ancient history that running them slower saved wear and tear on the machines which makes sense.

Yeah. I slowed it down so folks could see the rake better.

That rake looks cool! And also, this is in slow motion. The pinsetter is faster in real life (even these "A"´s).

Yes, those look like test machines. If you see the prototype Brunswicks on the KZbin video "Evolution Of Brunswick Automatics" (towards the end of the video) you can see the Pin Table cycling slowly just as in this video. The production models seemed to be faster.

"CHAMPIONSHIP BOWLING" {aka "ALL STAR BOWLING"} was a mainstay on most local stations from 1953 through 1970, usually seen on Saturday or Sunday afternoons. This is the "standard" opening title; it was usually up to the local announcer to "billboard" the title and the local advertisers who sponsored it [including a "telop" of the sponsors at :16]....
