Traditionally, point sparring is practiced to develop speed, distance management, movement and timing. Professional MMA fighters such as Raymond Daniels and Michael Venom Page are so dangerous due to their background in point fighting, incredibly unpredictable, quick and accurate. It grew into its own sport like this video, but it has a lot of value in fighting.

@@bobbyshmurda4971 I wonder if the only time you get any exercise is when you jump to a conclusion about people. for your info I'm 60 yrs old have taken karate si center age 11 and have completed in numerous POINT FIGHTING tournaments like this in my twenties and thirties. So YES I DO know quite a bit about point fighting. Not only that but I also competed I. light contact and full contact co.mpetitions and also full contact and point fighting Arnis stick fighting tournaments. But of course you had NO WAY of knowing this yet you felt that you could confidently type that I didn't know what I was talking about??? How do you come to a ridiculous definitive conclusion like that based on ONE small comment that a total stranger makes? Even if I had ZERO experience in point fighting, don't I still have the right to post my opinion and give my analysis based on my opinion?? we all do this way Hong basketball games football games boxing matches etc having NEVER competed in those sports. I'm taking a long time to say that you need to stop being unnecessarily rude to people.
@TheSubwaysurfer
@TheSubwaysurfer 4 жыл бұрын
@@bobbyshmurda4971 my sensei told us to NEVER reach with our punches even if you're point fighting it's a terrible habit as you leave your upper body open you throw your balance off and you can't get your weight behind a punch. furthermore you'll be counterpunchrd easily by your opponent. Reaching is one of the first things a competent coach will teach you not to do in fight sports it's a classic beginners mistake
@bobbyshmurda4971
@bobbyshmurda4971 4 жыл бұрын
First off, point fighting 30-40 years ago is not what point fighting is now. Second, yes of course everyone has a right to post their opinion, Im using my right to post my opinion that you're pointing out that he's reaching is incorrect. Reaching in UFC or Boxing is a beginners mistake, reaching in this sport is everything. back THIRTY TO FORTY YEARS ago, there was no such thing as a blitz, times have changed. The future is now old man
