kata and kumite,...tournaments......i won my fair share....but in the streets you learn real quick not to waste time or effort everything must count and most techniques will get you hurt if opponent is focused and ready, kiss method works(keep it simple stupid)... good quick hands, strong well timed front, side, roundhouse kicks, maybe spinning back kick, personally i used front kicks, crescent, and punches in bunches.

It’s pretty amazing to see how many people that don’t know anything about karate is commenting things like “this is trash” “MMA is better” “Boxing is better”, karate is not just trying to kill the other one, karate is discipline and respect, sadly, competition has become a show but still really good and still really really difficult to get to where this Two guys are, for those who ask why do they shout its call “kime” and its the liberation of the energy, or the strength, after making a hit, some people make it louder some people not. So before commenting stupid things without knowing, don’t try to make urselves “intelligent” cause ur not and don’t watch this videos if u prefer other sports.

For the people who doesn't understand and are making fun about the "hopping". If you stay still, you loose speed. Breaking the inertia allows you to have a faster response. Kumite fighting is about who can strike first, with most perfection and control. It is actually harder then throw many indefinite punches and kicks as hard as you can until the other guy gets knocked out. The athletes you see in a world karate championship are unbelievably fast, both to avoid getting hit and to move. So the fight is about who is faster, more techinical and smarter. "If its so effective, why we don't see UFC fighters hopping like bunnies?" you spend more energy hopping than standing still. In a 3 minute fight like this, it's possible to always be in movement, and by moviment I mean literaly moving every part of your body. For a UFC fight, that can last long, and you HAVE to strike as hard as you can, you can't waste energy breaking the inertia all the time. So, don't come here and say things you don't know, specially if it is offensive.(Sorry for my english, i'm not a native speaker). Thanks (:

I dont they will laugh anymore about this "dancing".
@PokemonProfessorNebula
@PokemonProfessorNebula 2 жыл бұрын
@@bazabaza6980 The difference between this and MMA is that its a tournament all held for both glory for the best, fun to practice, and learning for the others. Using the first clean strike minimizes damage to either fighter, and gives them a chance to retain lots of energy for the next bouts too. In Boxing you only have 1 minute to rest up before spending the next 3 in a ring with the opponent. And the respect at the end is just the best. Congratulating each other for their accomplishments.

Yea sure ... that is the theory. But the fact of the matter is you can clearly see the dudes looking around at the judges when they were yelping. I've done all this, know it, seen it and been in several competitions - 30yrs of experience in martial arts gives you perspective.

Stefan Mischook Believe it from an expert. Fanshi is used to focus Ki and expel air from your body as you strike so you aren't winded and don't get exhausted as quick. This is fact. Some people might use it to impress, but the fact is that it is a real technique. It can also be used as intimidation.
@StefanMischook
@StefanMischook 9 жыл бұрын
Sure, sure. All that is reasonable - except the ki energy stuff. But yes, yelling will force you to breath and the shout might startle the easily intimidated. But you can see in the above video the 'fighters' are looking to get the judges attention with their yelping. Do yourself a favor, go to a boxing gym and put on the gloves and spar three rounds with a n experienced fighter and see what happens. ... It will likely open your mind to new possibilities. Piece. S

All of them had experience in point-fighting, and all have carried their Karate to MMA quite successfully. Also, if you want a demonstration of the power of a good Karate style punch, take a look at Chuck Liddell, who's a Koei Kan Karate black belt, and Lyoto Machida's KO's against Rashad and Bader. Bigfoot Silva was also a Shotokan Karate black belt. Even Kyoji Horiguchi's been starching folks, and he's extremely traditional and has that "point fighting bounce." Every martial art has its place, its pros, and its cons, and the explosive speed and evasiveness of point-fighting translates well to full-contact and MMA. It looks a little strange to the untrained eye, and some of the attacks might seem "unrealistic," but there's nothing fake about the speed, agility, and reflexes of these guys. Take them on and see if you can touch them before you hate.

This point karate is objectively stupid. There's no way someone would fight like that in real life. It's not realistic, it's stupid over exaggeration of basically tiggy where no one gets hurt and 80% of the fight is screaming. They don't even kia correctly using their diaphragm they instead just use their voice like a spastic.

They also all quit and moved on at a young age when realising this sport is a complete joke. To the TRAINED eye its complete nonsense. The entire thing is useless for anything other than playing tag. Feel free to KZbin or google me. I have boxed professionally at world level globally. I was also a professional muay Thai fighter at age 19. I also have a 3rd Dan in TKD and black belt in karate. And I can tell you for a FACT both are useless in a real fight. I learned that the hard way. Both these guys would get knocked the fuck out in full contact sparring with an average gym boxer

So many haters... Does boxing suck because they don't kick? Is judo phoney baloney because they don't punch? A martial arts competition doesn't need to resemble a street fight for it to prove skill and martial prowess. Being grounded and pounded isn't everyone's idea of having a good time. And unlike UFC, most martial arts practitioners are in it for the fun and not for the money.

And this is coming from someone who does practice Shotokan Karate. If your dojo is not teaching you how to make contact, then how do you expect to properly defend yourself when the time comes? I see some negative feedback or in a better word some criticisms here.You should distinguish between a karate competition and a normal self defense or martial art class. For your information, Karate competitions is not an exhibition of martial art that you can show all of your Technics, because the time is so short and everything happens altogether in an extremely short time period hence the competitors should use only a single Technic which is their best and most predominant Technic. There is no room for a small mistake. Defiantly they know plenty of ethnics.

Unlike most arts where you win by KO, TKO, Submission, or accumulated points, point sparing is Basicly the stupidest game of tag ever. From the looks of it this is Keokoshin so there are bo punches to the head. Basicly you win when you punch the other guy in the stumic first. Yes that's littiraly. First one to get a punches loses. I know many karate people who come to MMA a2nd can't adjust to full contact because of this method. The only advantage you really get out of is good foot work, but contour pressured by a relentless attacker your pretty much screwed
