Here's a simple recipe for Chana Salad:
Ingredients:
1 can (15 oz) chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained and rinsed
1 cucumber, diced
1 tomato, diced
1 small red onion, finely chopped
1 bell pepper (any color), diced
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (coriander)
Juice of 1 lemon
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon ground cumin
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional:
1 green chili, finely chopped (for spice)
1/2 teaspoon chaat masala (for extra flavor)
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained chickpeas, diced cucumber, tomato, onion, bell pepper, and cilantro.
In a small bowl, whisk together the lemon juice, olive oil, ground cumin, salt, and pepper. If using, add the chopped green chili and chaat masala.
Pour the dressing over the salad ingredients and toss gently to coat everything evenly.
Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Serve immediately or refrigerate for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
