In 2014 there was an accident with a ride like that in my city, Fortaleza, in Brazil. It was a fair park called Golden Park that was in the city at the time. The ride's main axis broke in mid-air and the disc fell to the ground. An 26yo man died and some were injured. Investigations concluded that they were not doing maintenance properly.

I would like to add that the same group that owned golden park has had multiple accidents over the years, some of them with more casualties, the last one happening last year, where a girl was flung off a wave swinger where the chains broke off, she died months later at the hospital, stay away from their parks, id rather not have any rides to go to than potentially die.

Pretty ironic that they died out cause of poor maintenance. I know there was design issues but nothing really complicated enough to doom the ride. I unfortunately never got to ride one, it seems like one of the best flats ever

I used to work at with Campbell Amusements in the 2000s and I remember some of the times when they'd have the Chaos ride. There were two travelling shows and the Chaos was usually on what we called the A-Show. However, the two shows would basically merge together for the fair in Paris, Ontario, where I most often recall seeing the Chaos.

I rode one at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, remember seeing the commercials for the new ride and I was just coming out of my shell with being inverted. Loved riding it as a kid, was unpredictable. Didn't realize til now that the rides were problematic.

I rode the one at the Adventuredome a few times over the years. I loved the ride experience, but hated the restraints. The balancing thing also explains why only half the seats were filled on it. Also, I remember the chance drop tower at the Adventuredome being insane, with it having a forceful launch and drop, compared to the S&S ones.

Is the one at Adventuredome actually closed? The ride is still listed on their site? Personally a great ride. Don’t recall the restraints being that bad and even if so I’d say it is warranted in exchange for the thrill it provides unlike something like Disk’o. Understandable as to why it would be a maintenance nightmare with the number of moving parts it had.

I rode it a few times in 2003 at the AdventureDome in Vegas. I don't remember much of the experience, but I always wondered why the workers would sometimes make me move seats. Now I know the reason for the seat switching.

Small correction: there is ONE chaos I believe is still operating. Its owned by Italian showman Montenero, videos and information is very hard to find on this ride though, it operated until at least 2023 and I couldn't find a video from this year yet. I'll update if I did, with a link if that's allowed Edit: it's still operating in 2024, simple youtube search should do the trick.

I own 1 and half one from Elich Gardens in Denver. We planned to refurbish it but Chance Rides discouraged us but I sold all the carts and motor from one and kept all of the other one. Mine used to be the Krypton Comet.

Yes, I remember I rode the 1 in La$ Vega$ summer vacation about either 1999 or 2000 in either Circus Circus, MGM Grand, Treasure Island or some other place. We also had 1 here in Corpus Christi Buccaneer Days traveling carnival spring late 1990's to early 2000's. Other than memories of it, I have a specification sheet for the portable version of this Chaos ride from Chance corporation that has detailed information about it.

And the "enterprise" ride still is going in at least 3 different CF parks. The no restraints is what makes it so unique and fun. I know I rode Chaos when it was at Valleyfair but I don't remember the experience.

I actually really enjoyed the Chaos.. I've ridden it at the Adventuredome probably 15 years ago and locally at the Melbourne Show 2 years back to back. Haven't seen it in ages. But was a very fun ride and not too scary at all. The original Enterprise is a lot scarier believe it or not. I think it's just the side seating position, no matter how many flips you get, that keeps it from being too scary but still a lot of fun. An enterprise has zero restraints, my height means I am always in a car alone, it's spookier if that makes sense and the G forces higher.

Rode it many times at Indiana Beach - they had issues with it - the safetely features would kick in once it went up and they would have to bring it back down. It wasn't there for very long.

chaos was such a fun right. First rode one at the LA county fair, RCS used to own one. Also rode the one at he adventure dome in Vegas. Made sure to take a lot of pictures and video of that one the last time i rode it cause i knew eventually it wouldnt be there anymore. I do miss this ride along with the Chance Inverter.

I have been on the ride and operated one for several years. Great ride in concept and stunning visually. I had no problem loading the ride from a balancing perspective but memorizing the seat pairings could be confusing to some. It seemed to suffer with mechanical issues and from what understand was expensive to operate.

What's interesting ab this ride is I always found the beginning of the cycle (the part where it's spinning horizontal) to be the worst part bc you were spinning faster and faster while on ur back. Once the wheel tilted forward everyone would be screaming and I would be recovering from that part🤣😂💀 Very fun ride though. Like you mentioned every ride you had would be different.

Lightwater valley in the uk had one for a short time. It came from southport pleasureland but lightwater got rid of it after a few months due to high downtime. It was a fun ride but a 2 min max cycle was enough thrill imo

I remember riding this a few times, though I don't remember where. Maybe SFGA, maybe Funtown Pier at Seaside (before the fire wiped the pier out), maybe just at a carnival. Wherever the case, I never really cared for the ride ... it always felt to me like an inferior Zipper ride. It's weird to see videos where half the cars aren't even installed ... likely late-in-the-day rides that resorted to using some cars for spare parts. In the end (for me), a ride that looked a lot better than it really was. To be fair, a number of rides come to mind when I make this distinction.

I thought it was a great ride from you know the time was operating to it s closure I've been to the chaos adventure dome theme park and there's a lot of good things I can say about it is very smooth for its kind even though it looked rough the restraint systems were not as bad they seemed hard to handle it but get locked good and tell you they were strong so that kept me feeling safe but overall like I said it was a smooth ride and the flipping and like going upside down parts aren't or just executed nicely.

I wasn't a huge fan of Chaos rides, usually one-and-done when encountered. I found the ride too disorienting and always felt sick after riding. I rode installations at Adventuredome, Six Flags America, and Six Flags Great Adventure.

Excuse me i designed that ride and chance stole it from me i showed them it in September of 1996 i went to chance rides in Wichita got a tour of the whole place nu may of 1997 it was rolling out thire back door the lieing cheating bastards i was thire when a 11 year old black girl was thrown from the prototype of the wipeout rode all of the lap bars opened at the same time chance should have been sued they held everyone on that damn Ride for four hours until chance lawyers got to Alton IL and made everyone sing a paper and paid each of them to not say anything
