FINALLY someone uploads a good oneride video of the zipper! There are tons of them on youtube, and they all suck. This one was awesome. As soon as I saw that YOU had uploaded one, I knew it would be a good one.

This is really one of the best on-ride video clips I have seen of the infamous Zipper. I like hearing the gears, etc. I first rode one at the 2004 NC STATE FAIR when I was 31 years of age. I almost don't know why I waited so long to ride the Zipper. Maybe because it looked too scary even for a ride which made its debut in 1969. Still, it's a MUST for me now when I go to a fair...speaking of which the 2008 NC STATE FAIR is this week. Only problem is that TWO people are required to ride.

i love love LOVE this ride. i went on it last night 11 times. i love it cause the ride is never the same. you always flip at different times and have a different experience. i ended up flipping 13 times in a row at night so me and my friend were screaming cause we didnt know when we would stop.

King of the midway. No other ride is as scary or intense. I feels as if the whole thing will topple over, while clanking and banging and flipping. Serious an bizarre ride- my favorite.

This was my number 1 most intense carnival ride until a few days ago I rode the Chance Skydiver at Carolina Beach and it was my first one. This does have more force in terms of g's but the Chace Skydiver tossed me around more and gave more hangtime

Excellent video! I loved that ride, up until last summer when one here in Minnesota had a door open mid ride and 2 girls fell 25 feet to the pavement! SCARY! So... yeah, I'm a little iffy about this ride now!

I cried the first time I rode this (when I was nine), but the second time and beyond, it became my favorite ride at the fair. I am currently trying to beat my record of seven times on the Zipper, but because no single riders are allowed, it's kind of difficult.:D (everyone else gets sick way before then) haha! But yes, the cool "ghost" sound is another thing I love about the ride! I hope they are still manufacturing the Zipper, but I don't believe they are. :(

Do you have any place I can download this? I wouldn't put it on the internet as mine or anything. I would just want to convert this to audio so I can hear it on my computer. It sounds strange, but I just love that noise. All the other Zipper videos, you can't hear the audio so good because it's too far away, or they have music on.

Oh god. This ride was the scariest ride, I've been on, even though I've gone on steep drops and loops, they can't compare to this. My cousin and I went on it and once it started doing 360s you literally were falling out of the chair, but maybe that was just because we're particularly scrawny. It gives you suspense, nausea and thrills and drops. Have fun.

I consider myself a veteren when it comes to the zipper. I rode it seventeen times in one day. I couldn't get enough of it. Once I get over the first flip over the top, I'm okay with things. After that it's a breeze. I've yet to go on it again. It's been fifteen or so years since I last rode it. Awesome ride though.

@PenguinsRule990 there are padded bars to hold onto, if you hold those and push yourself against the seat, you dont have a chance of bashing your head in ;D

The bar is attached to the door. When the operator closes the door and latches it, the bar holds you in and you aren't going anywhere. The scary part is when you flip over forwards, it seems like you're going to go flying through the door and it will open and send you hurtling through the air. It has happened a few times to unlucky people, but not likely..

It moves by itself but you can rock it back and forth to make it flip, so you kinda have control over it but not too much control

With this ride, once I get over the first intial flip going forward, I'm fine being on it. I usually scream with the first flip when it slides along the track and then goes over. it's the shock thing at first..awesome.awsome ride though..one of my favourites to go on..

One of the easiest rides to stow for transport... Align the ride so that the cars are six and six each side... Lower the entire boom flat on the trailer via the large hydraulic piston and lock the whole thing down... Then take apart the entry gate and "Zipper" sign... There are places on the trailer to stow them...

trust me you won't barf people just assume that because of how it looks on the outside, when you're in line is probably the scariest due to very high anticipation and when you get in the crate and move up but then when the ride starts you'll most likely lol and scream because of fun not fear.I went on this twice 2 days ago and I'm going on it again tonight. Just do it don't think about it. Don't worry you'll be fine just get a really close friend to ride with you.
