Fun Fact: you can use this same technique to remove dents from wood, like desks or even gunstocks. It wont repair cuts but with dents the heat forces the steam down into the fibers and makes them go back to normal ie straight. Same concept with the fibers inside leather. Pretty amazing.

On top of this I'd highly recommend using cedar shoe trees to maintain the shape while not being worn. After a long day of wear the cedar tree will absorb the moisture out of the leather allowing it to dry to the form of the tree. It also keeps the bacteria buildup at a minimum keeping thos babies smelling fresh

@SquirtleCODM11 ай бұрын
As with most common materials, leather is still vulnerable to extreme temperature changes and fluctuations. And even with mild changes but sustained through months and years, the highest-quality leather (including the synthetic ones) will still soon show signs of deterioration. Put it this way im only doing this to dailys not anything meaningful to me.

How to uncrease patent leather?
@donavoncash77394 ай бұрын
That looks good for the camera but once they are back on foot they are gonna fold like a napkin. Best way is preventative. Get your shoe a half size up if need be. So I'm a 12 I get 12.5 take an ankle sock fold it and put it under the toe box of the shoe and you're set but you have to be attentive to how you're holding your feet as well. You don't want to stand or sit in ways that will crease the shoe. Those are my fun facts
@gabrielgago69457 ай бұрын
Although this is a nice tip this is something temporary and in time it returns. Unfortunately this happens because Nike and other branded use on some sneakers the lowest possible grade of leather to call it so, and put on top of the leather a layer of plastic material imitating the grain pattern of real leather, and this fucking thing with the torsion of the sneaker separates itself from the leather. But nice tip anyway 👏🏼
