Borrowing only works if the market believes that you're competent with money and Labour has a track record of being reckless with public money and has already shown it's not competent with unaffordable pay rises to unionised public sector workers at the expense of pensioners and private sector workers.

I would make national insurance compulsory for all at a higher rate. Increase the tax-free allowance to £16,000.
