What possessed her to axe winter fuel payments with a cliff edge of non-eligibility? Anyone with an ounce of sense or decency would’ve made it incremental, ie reduce it only by the same percentage by which their total retirement income exceeds the pension credit threshold. Or was that too much like hard work? As it is, any pensioner whose retirement income exceeds the threshold by as little as £10 a year will fall right off that cliff and be actually worse off than someone on pension credit. How utterly absurd.

Oh Ms Reeves make sure your not claiming fuel allowance for the second home you live in while working in government. You don't need to heat two homes. Set an example. Oh and no more acceptance of donations for clothes. Oh do the right thing now and donate the equivalent amount of money you have accepted for clothes to age uk. Where is your moral standards.
