The Chancellor has told Sky News that the UK economy has "turned a corner" after inflation dropped to 2.3% in April.
Jeremy Hunt said he was careful not to make "inflationary decisions" and was committed to bringing down taxes for people and to help build a stronger economy.
He said the Conservatives were "willing to do the hard work to bring down taxes".

Meaningless gibberish. Car insurance energy bills water bills food and petrol increases have all far outstripped wage rises. All against a backdrop of record breaking corporate profits

Claiming something they had no hand in as usual. If inflation goes up it is the war in Ukraine, Coronavirus or the Bank of England board should be sacked, but if inflation falls its always smart moves by the government. Why don't they tell the public to stop moaning and tell us due to the governments streamlining the NHS is now running better and cheaper, and Britain has seen a better growth in food banks than other European countries which of course is a Brexit benefit.

She's asking him if the Tories haven't contributed to inflation by increasing the minimum wage and paying public sector workers more? If the Tories hadn't done that she'd be criticizing him for leaving lower paid workers in poverty, and talking about what a sh*tshow the resulting public sector strikes had caused. This presenter is incredibly irritating.

My main inflation indicator is the price of my favourite Pringles! And so far so good that it is now near pandemic level of £1.25. It reached to £2.5 before but now backed to £1.5. So well done chancellor for helping me buy Pringles again.

Supply and demand inflation due to Russian gas has gone down ONLY. the economy is still rough with no growth as the Tories keep cutting and have the excuse of paying the covid bill of £600 billion. No one is actually talking about the Real price rise of over 20% since 2016 and the sheer lack of growth in job numbers and quality. ohhh did we forget that one jezza???
