There is little question Beryl is heading directly to Galveston/Houston. The "models" are completely underestimating the chances for a turn to the north and it will gain much strength in the GOM in the meantime.

Certainly if it heads that way it will have a chance to be a major hurricane. Definitely looking like central Texas needs to be watching this closely. - Jonathan

Dude, he straight up said that global models don't take into account for rapid intensification, and that they are using all the tools, including experimental data models to try and figure out where this is going. Many meteorologists are also saying the same thing this guy is, they just don't have as much time on their segments to explain it. "These Weather People" are not the enemy.

I think chances are pretty decent there is some impact from Beryl in Houston. Still unclear how much…but a more north storm will be stronger. - Jonathan

My family lives in Brownsville, Texas. If the hurricane moves a little farther north, Brownsville/South Padre Island will get a direct hit. My sister lives on South Padre.

The first person to actually call these models on how bad they have been. The ICON has been right since day one.

Models have actually done pretty good as a whole. Not on strength but location. But now since a turn is in play the intensity plays a big role on when and how that turn happens. ICON has done a really nice job and may end up being correct with the final landfall like you said! - Jonathan

Some are making predictions and no one knows. Let’s have a hurricane pooI and the one who get closest gets the bragging rights for a reward. I think Mexico will be safe from this as so will most of Texas, I think this one is headed for Louisiana and will be a solid cat 5 similar to Katrina if not stronger. I’m guessing Cameron to Grand Isle area for landfall.
