This log tiny prefab house is filled with all types of beautiful wood and gives somewhat of a modern look! The manufacturer for this modular house is actually the Amish based out of North Ms. This home has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathroom and is a 16x40 size home with roughly 575 sqft w/ the porch. Let me know what you think about the video! I hope you enjoy this mobile home walk through video.

We have been in the mobile home business for years, and thought why not upload videos about something we can relate to and deal with every day.
We have seen the mobile home business come such a long way. In the old days most people referred to mobile homes as a trailer house. However some of the manufactured homes we carry are far from “trailer houses.”

You ain’t lyin’. I’ve got a rocking chair that’s been in my family for over 100 years. It was reseated back in the 90’s because the seat disintegrated. But I had an Amish lady do it. But it’s still in excellent shape. 6 generations of babies have been rocked to sleep in that chair.

I mean, if we weren’t looking at metal and vinyl prefab siding and flashing stuff I’d agree. Just because it says “built by the Amish” doesn’t automatically mean “Amish quality” or “ONLY build by the Amish”. In this case I’d bet you the cost of the linoleum on that thing’s floor it’s just a factory that employees Amish workers (nothing wrong with that, many English employ Amish and in most Amish sects that is acceptable as long as they aren’t using tools that their order doesn’t allow). But what that usually means is an “English” crew is running the power tools trip the metal and place the rivets in the steel, and the Amish boys are hammering the shingles, the floor, possibly hanging the dry wall, and doing any cabinetry. I guarantee you they aren’t running the HVAC and wiring the electrical. They are fantastic carpenters… but there isn’t a whole bunch of carpentry going on here. People pay a premium when they hear “Amish Built”, but beware, you only need 1 Amish kid throwing a few nails in it for them to be able to say that. Also just… rethink supporting Amish businesses in general. They aren’t the “wholesome salt of the earth” people they have been portrayed as for so long. They live by their own laws and SO MUCH of ALL KINDS of abuse is rampant and goes unreported because of the cult-level power the “preachers” hold over their communities. Someone, still. In 2023, they are allowed to intentionally keep every generation COMPLETELY IGNORANT of their rights- especially the girls and women. Education only to 8th grade and ONLY from the Bible didn’t put you at a huge disadvantage in the 1950s, but in the 2020s it’s criminal. The kids are technically SUPPOSED to be given the opportunity to join the church or not as teenagers- but how much “choice” do you really have when you know absolutely NOTHING about the society and economy around you, or the most basic skills one needs in the modern world just to get a job in something like fast food? And when I say they know nothing about the society around them I mean just the non-Amish is their own countyor state. They don’t even know what the USA is, they haven’t seen maps of the world, no history at all, they don’t know WHAT a “president” is, let alone WHO he is. Their childhood starts and ends with the church and the preachers as the ultimate authorities- they are raised with the fear of god in them about talking to outsiders about anything “behind closed doors”- they don’t know police can help them when they come do a check for suspected abuse- they are all but told the police as the devil. The kids are utterly brainwashed. They don’t even have SS#s, they are pulled from Amish-only schools at 8th grade where they only learn how to read at about a 3rd grade level- the Bible and Farmer’s Almanacs and BASIC arithmetic.. You can’t steal a child’s basic education, give them literally ZERO knowledge about how the world outside your fundamentalist cult works, teach them a deep distrust a fear of the outside world, deprive them of even a high school education, makethem completely dependent on the community and church, pressure and guilt them HARD if they even hint they MIGHT want to leave, then sincerely say “but it’s %100 their choice to join the church or leave to live in the “English world”. If all you knew in 1950 and prior was farming for boys and housekeeping and gardening for girls you wouldn’t be at a disadvantage, not much at least. But these kids have ever used a phone or computer of any kind. Most have never even SEEN a smart phone. They become overwhelmed by the technology and get addicted. They have no concept of money, how to budget, all the bills that come with modern life, modern manners and customs. They get scammed left and right by ever phone scammer. Sorry, the way they are allowed to stunt their kid’s’ educations to keep them subservient- especially the girls- only %10 who leave are girls because at least boys are taught a skill, a trade- carpentry. They can do heavy work somewhere. Not a lot of demand for a washing laundry and milking cows by hand and scrubbing floors on hands and knees and weeding gardens and fixing 3 meals a day-mall the girls are taught. Not to mention the icing on the cake- the DON’T BRUSH THEIR TEETH. The adults, the kids, none of them. They just let them rot until they hurt to much then dad pulls them out with vice grips. This deprivation of medical care and education is NOT BIBLICAL, this is NOT A FREEDOM OF RELIGION THING. It’s a CONTROL thing. Every Amish has typically lost all their teeth and been replaced by crappy dentures by their 30s. And no, that are not forbidden from going to “English” doctors and dentists, they just don’t unless it’s dire. And they obviously go to get dentures, so it’s not like news of basic oral hygiene hasn’t made it into the communities, they just don’t do it. Which is fine for an adult- but pure neglect for a child. And there is a reason we get extractions at a dentist’s office! You can THINK you got the whole tooth, but if it’s already rotten there is a good chance part of a root is broken off deep in there, and it will rot and get infected eventually, and dental infections can go septic quickly. Really it’s criminal with all the information we actually have on how the Amish abuse their power to “govern themselves” , how they abuse and neglect their women and children. It’s criminal that in the 2020s we aren’t requiring AT THE LEAST that Amish Children get a high school education at the same standard as all other children. Why are their lives worth so much less that they can be deprived of an education and forced into HARD child labor at just 13? Why are they worth less than their non-Amish peers when it comes to access to information, a right to decide what they will believe in? And why are they worth so much less that we allow their caregivers to neglect basic health needs like oral hygiene. And finally- why are we as a society ok with them being turned into child laborers at 13, instead of finishing school, robbing them of any realistic choice to choose their OWN LIFE because the state and society have allowed them to be robbed of the basic skills needed to compete with their non-Amish peers and to operate and live in the country and the century they were born in? Not because of religion. There is tradition and there is religion. No reading of any Christian Bible supports their extremist, cultish traditions that deprive their children of the education, autonomy, personal choices and overall freedoms that are the birthright of every single American child. Freedom of religion doesn’t exist if you can’t (a) make a free, INFORMED decision to participate in the religion AND (b) decide at any time to STOP practicing or participating in the religion free from fear and harassment.

It is stunning. I would love to have something built by the Amish. Also instead of the window air conditioner I would love to see some of those Mini splits. I would love to see a 2 bedroom 2 bath with a porch on both ends so that would probably need to be 60 or 80' long. I don't know if they do now but as a rule they do not use nails or screws everything is joined together and secured with pegs or wedges.

Lol, sorry Donna, but pegs and dowels and other old school joinery techniques that the Amish used in barns and homes of the 1800s thru early 1900s have all been replaced with modern nail guns and hammers just like every modern carpenter uses so these buildings really are no different than any other tiny home available but folks use the term "Amish built" to attract folks that truly dont understand how the Amish work today. It can be a bit different from Amish community to Amish community cause some are much more strict on what they are allowed to use today but not all of them are confined to horse and buggies like they were 30-40 years ago. Most today can get permission to drive, use modern day tools, and carry cell phones provided it is being used for their daily employment. Life within the Amish communities is much different than what it used to be and so are their methods of construction.

This specific one is really nice and exactly what I am looking for. I said, wow out loud when you walked in, visualized my stuff in it (happy to see it empty) and the minute I saw you turn that camera in that spacious bathroom and saw them washer/dryer connections, I was sold! It is a beautiful home. One thing that impressed me is the outside lighting is away from the door to keep the bugs away from the door. The workmanship is fantastic. The only two things I would change is add a dishwasher and rather than a window air conditioner I would use a minisplit. Heats and cools and much more efficient than a window unit. I didn't see a heat supply unit.

Beautifully done inside and out. Would make a great cabin in the mountains or at the beach. Maybe even an upscale hunting cabin or party barn. As a primary residence it would need a lot of changes for me. But I DO love the tiny home/shed to home tours you have brought us. Empty nesters here so double wide and modular homes tend to be to big for my tastes. I do enjoy the tours you give of them and seeing all the improvements the industry as a whole has integrated into today's homes vs. what was available 40 years ago when you lived in a trailer instead of a manufactured home. Another great job sir! 💜

My shed is smaller than this one but is built well. The Mennonites built it. It's barn style with a red roof and has cedar lap siding, which I didn't even know I wanted 'til I had it. Thanks for the tour, Chance. Blessings.

The inside of this Shed-to-House is stunning. You can see the craftsmanship in every corner. That being said, the outside really let's it down. I guess you can't judge a book by it's cover but looking at the outside, it looks like one of those cheap metal sheds you buy to store your garden tools in. I'd also be interested how this home rates in severe weather-things like tornados, extreme cold etc. I get that the idea behind a model like this is affordable housing (the end user intends to rent it out). I know that the Amish build quality products and I'm sure the siding is very secure--it just looks cheap.

Dear Chance, You're a Southern fella. Those of us from what I refer to as the industrial Midwest (Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, etc.) sit up straight when we hear Amish built. It's synonymous with high quality at reasonable cost. Please tour more of these. The fancier stuff has a market, but there are a lot of single, couples, small families, retirees, etc. that would like and/or need to do more with there money than put in in their housing. Thanks for this video tour. Keep up the good work.😊

I have Amish live all around me in upstate New York. I bought a lot of lumber from them. They build a lot of sheds around here and custom cabinets. Great friendly hard working people.

Really nice! Lots of beautiful wood inside. Love the cabinets and the beams. Only thing I would change is the floor color and the chrome bathroom faucet I would change to bronze to match bathtub fixtures, but otherwise this is a great space! 👍

Beautiful woodwork. That's the way to do a small kitchen. I counted 10 drawers (most small kitchens only have 3 or 4, ugh) then there is that lazy susan in the corner. Wow. Nice little house. Thanks Chance.

I made a huge island with a double cabinet and a drawer cabinet from the Restore. It’s on wheels. The double cabinet isn’t quite as deep as the drawer cabinet so I added storage on the back for baking sheets. I made 2 shelves and doors. 3 big padded stools fit on the side with the pan storage. It’s got 6 wheels. We can move it to vacuum or to rearrange the kitchen a bit. My husband and I did a laminate top. My 1st router job. (I do not want to do laminate AGAIN. Just sayin lol) on one side of the island I added shelves for cookbooks or whatever. we use it for all our protein powders and ACV.
