Cool light but if they would of just made the base with a bracket on it to screw to the ceiling this light install would be a piece of cake but you have to be a fucking scientist just to finish this light job .

As a half ass handy man,let me say this light is really cool.That being said it is a piece of shit and IKEA should be ashamed of themselves for not rectifying it’s issues,we are returning ours immediately.How hard would it of been to put ears on the mounting plate to screw the cover into.Plus i have never bought a light fixture that doesn’t come with mounting hardware.

I know is so annoying....plus the weight is all on the wire so when you pull it, it will pull away from the top cone and cables...!!

What ever you do dont follow this video,he does not point out that you need a srew in hook in a joist to hang the light on which is dangerous, if you dont have it the light will come down with one pull.

I bought one over a year ago and just decided to put it up. The rope does not anchor flush to the ceiling cover. I figured something was missing, returning tomorrow.

The weight of the fitting is taken by the dome which you fix as close to the ceiling as possible. Then the circular lip of the dome holds the fitting in place, by bracing against the ceiling which does not allow it to move.

Guys, get rid of the dome and use a standard ceiling Rose but don’t allow the live neutral wires to take the weight. Use a cable gripper and attach it to the actual white cable and then to the ceiling Rose. Silly design.

I noticed that. A different video (by Leo Chaplin) suggested using a white cable tie around the cord so the top remains close to the ceiling. But it would be better if there were small plastic brackets screwed to the ceiling and screws near the top edge of the plastic "cup".

Nicht auf die Klemme drücken beim Kabel einstecken. nur dann kann die Klemme richtig halten. Drückt man drauf liegt das Kabel nicht perfekt in der Klemme und kann rausrutschen und einen Kurzschluss verursachen! Desweiteren sind die Löcher an der Deckenhalterung nicht für die Kabel in der Decke sondern für die Lampe um die Kraft besser an den Haken zu geben wenn man dran zieht sonst kommt jedesmal die Lampe weiter runter... so wie im Video... Echt blöd sowas zu zeigen...

No you can. You can adjust the wire to the length you want and then lock it with the lock fitting inside the cone.
