Chandler Fire - Chino, California 11.09.23

CHINO (LLN) - On Thursday afternoon, November 09, 2023, around 1:12pm, Cal Fire / Riverside County Fire along with Chino Valley Fire and the City of Corona Fire Department responded to multiple reports of a brush fire in the area of Chandler Street and Hellman Avenue. The first arriving engine company reported heavy fire in thick brush with winds fanning the fire to the south-west. At around 1:30pm, the fire jumped Chino-Corona Road as it continued to burn to the south-west. As of 2:37pm the fire was approximately 20 acres with no containment and no evacuations. Firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading to a nearby development and school. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined however, Edison crews were seen working in the area at the time.
