I do love Egoiste, but my SOTD is Quorum Silver. I can't believe it is so inexpensive but yet smells so amazingly good. It is a very under appreciated scent. Good day sir :)

I rarely get compliments on fragrance. However, I wore egoiste today and at lunch the woman who sat down at the table next to me began smelling the air like a puppy and exclaiming how “well it smelled in here”. 😂 then in the way home the gas station attendant told me I smelled amazing. 🎉

New to the fragrance game and by new I mean last month or so. I actually started with the classics like Fahrenheit Antaeus, Polo Green, Kouros, Versace L’homme, Boss one and Ted Lapidus. I also have a bottle of Platinum Egoiste. I think everything has a place though. Certain freshies are fantastic like Dior Homme Sport or the new Chanel Allure Homme Sport SuperLeggera EDP.

How’s Egoiste compared to G.F.Trumper Sandalwood?

GFT Swd is , in that order: cinnamon blast, a bit of woody creaminess (what is sold as sandalwood) and hint of rose. While CE is rose first, then cinnamon then a hint of synth creamy wood. (90’s vintage CE has a bit more woods and a hint of animalic, but still…). Cinnamon/spices are the main players in both, so if sandalwood is what you look for, look elsewhere. But had I to choose between one, I d go for GFT, by a mile, both in scent and quality (I hate the ultra sweet rose/cinnamon domination of CE).
