I really feel bad for you.. I also thought that Chanel would do a right job but they unfortunately didn't.. But I really like that you're being honest about this cause lots of youtubers would just say it's good because it's expensive and say cheap makeup is bad while that's not true.. Most companies that test on animals do so in order to sell their product on the Chinese market. China still has an idiotic rule for drugs/cosmetics being sold in the country - they have to be tested on animals as well as humans. For some excellent reason, only human trials aren't enough. So what with China being a huge market, most brands want to get at it, so they have to test on animals.

I think the reason why the colors are a bit sheer is because Chanel tries to appeal to more middle-aged women. Also, a lot of people feel uncomfortable with lip colors that stand out, so maybe Chanel tried to make their liquid lipsticks more toned down.

I'm glad Jeffree does videos like this where he tests luxury makeup FOR US. Some of you may want to try it and even if you don't agree with his final review you get to see how they perform. That's helpful I think especially when these come to $40 for each one (that's two KVD or Jeffree Star lipsticks!) and this way you know by watching whether you'd spend the money. It's also helpful to Chanel as a brand to know what their buyers like and disapprove of, and of course someone like Jeffree is a loyal Chanel shopper, he's not just shitting on the brand because it's expensive, he loves Chanel and when a brand you love comes out with something disappointing it's kind of heartbreaking. Love the video Jeffree, and love you!

Like Antonella said, they are most likely solotica, because they look exactly like the ones I have. I got the "Natural Colors" in blue, green, etc. And they last a year after being opened which is awesome. They do cost about 90$ though. Also, in certain pictures of the lens, you could see the little dots of color which may seem like it'll look fake. I was kinda hesitant about getting them because of that, but they look so real when you put them on. I got them on a site called paranalentes. I've never had a problem there. Sorry for any typos, i don't feel like rereading what i wrote, hope this helps!

What a shame. I absolutely LOVE these. I'm not a fan of matte liquid lipsticks, i hate the way they feel, but these feel like nothing on the lips at all and the stain they leave behind is GORGEOUS. I got one and loved it so much I went back for more.

I agree. Although I don't think they should be marketed they way they are to me they are not velvet finish, but I do think they feel amazing on the lips. I prefer them over all other liquid lips.....they don't crumble, they don't dry up...and they don't leave you with dreaded ''butt hole lips''. Not all liquid lips need to fit the same criteria of super pigmented and matte as fuck. While a little sheer this product actually stains your lips and wears off in a flattering way.

Elyssa S-A I loved the one I bought as well, Luxuriant. It takes about 15 minutes for it to fully dry down but once it did it didn't budge. The kiss test showed no residue and it looked velvety matte. Not trying on the lips, not heavy, and never got that horrible Lip line in the inner rim. Wore beautifully. Love these 😍

It's probably their rouge double intense formula just without the gloss. The rouge double intense is one of the best formulas ever ever ever EVER and does not budge for daaaaaaays. I use them for weddings. You have to seal them with the gloss, but the gloss wears down after a bit and it becomes a beautiful satin slightly metallic finish.

I have two shades from this range and honestly, I love them. I like that they don't dry down completely and that they are sheerer. My theory is that Chanel caters more for the European market and from what I can tell is that many here in Europe prefer that kind of sheer look.

that's just not true, Europe even banned animal testing for cosmetics because it is just an unnecessary cruelty that can easily be replaced by more accurate methods. most companies only test on animals to get access to the Chinese market ( there are some stupid stupid-ass regulations for third party testing in china) and not to ensure the safety of their products
