CHANEL - NEW No 1 de Chanel Foundation and Balm Wear Test

I purchased the foundation last week at Ulta. Went in for a new round brush for styling my hair and was obviously blindsided by the Chanel display just inside the front door. The Ulta display merchandiser is not stupid ‘cause it worked - I bought the foundation. I left the other products on the table - foundation did enough damage to my budget 😬. It looks lovely on this 74 year old face, even at the end of the day. Happy to have bought it.

I am SO impressed with this foundation. I only bought it out of curiosity and didn't have too much of high hopes for it, especially the longevity. But I wore it twice in a situation where I had to have a respirator on for several hours (with all the sweat and humidity that can build underneath it, sorry for the gross details...) and then had to look presentable afterwards without the possibility of doing/retouching my makeup in between. It did not budge, my skin looked great (my husband even gave me compliments on how great my skin looked that evening). I am not saying what is usually the case with other foundations (and I am usually fine with it, as I try to be realistic in what I can get out of a foundation in terms of performance) that it disappeared gracefully. No, it was still there, intact, still looking natural like perfected skin. I am amazed. Usually the lighter type of foundations, which look like skin, I love them, but they also do not last as long, especially in tougher circumstances and this is just incredible also in this respect. This one may even beat Chantecaille foundations for me (which are the only ones so far that have had both the natural perfected look and could last on me, all the other foundations usually at the very least rub off around underneath the rim of my glasses).

Would love to hear a comparison of this with other Chanel foundations.. have a few I've been coveting, the Sublimage line, some of the Les Beiges products.. would be so grateful for coverage and longevity comparisons!!

I would say it's more cheer than vitalumiere, similar to Vitalumiere aqua, without the extra shine, certainly luminous, but more Satin like, certainly thinner in consistency once applied, but blends in like a dream. It reminds me a lot of a cle de peau formula somehow. It's like a light Serum that dries powdery without the cracklyness of it.

@@steffimarie1022 that's a hard pick...well Vitalumiere Aqua has sunscreen (OCTINOXATE 6 % /TITANIUM DIOXIDE 5.6 %) which Chanel No1 does not. So ur using for everyday, or with flash photography, I would stick to the Chanel No1, throw on ur favorite concealer under or on top & call it a day. Personally octinoxate breaks me out, so even tho I luv the finish of Vitalumiere Aqua, I cannot wear everyday. Hope this helps 🤗

I splurged on this entire line today … after promising myself no more Chanel … but I am so happy I got this because it’s more skincare … the foundation is perfect! My skin looks and feels amazing !! I know it’s targeted to people half my age but so far I love this line.

I really appreciate your foundation reviews. I also appreciate ur shade matching. It seems like so many influencers see their skin as darker than they are and wear foundation that is so much deeper than their skin tone. Even if matching to their tanned skin. I love the Chanel CC cream (spf 50 - no chemical blockers), and the Eau de Teint… I love the way both look, with medium coverage for CC cream, and light coverage (and glow) with the Eau de Teint. :-) Chanel foundations are really lovely.

I really like the balm for my lips for same reason as you don’t like it! Once you’ve broken through the surface it’s softer and spreads more easily but doesn’t slip and slide everywhere.

This is a wonderful easy light wearing foundation. I like the new Charlotte tilbury foundation too. This one goes on so easy and is a pleasure to put on which is nice for a change. The Charlotte Tilbury is also nice to have for a bit more coverage.

Yes, it's quite nice. I love all the Chanel foundations I've tried except for the Sublimage, which exaggerated my pores and lines. The color match, B20, is the most flattering of all the other brands of foundation.

Tried the foundation but the fragrance irritated my rosacea so much that I have to return. After 3 hours my face was red and burning. Sad! I otherwise loved it. Waiting for the day Chanel makes a fragrance-free (also SPF-free and alcohol-free like this one) foundation.

Wow, love it on you too! Skinlike. Thank you. Have you tried the Paula's Choice 2% BHA or the Madelic+Lactic liquid exfoliants? Would get rid of the situation you have going on your forehead rim. Gosh you have beautiful skin. I notice you mention that part every time. Or the LA ROCHE POSAY B5 BALM OR CICA GEL (which will go with whichever skincare you use). This is you have some kind of sensitivity. Back to video. Love both. Especially the foundation. Getting! Your face is perfect for trying on makeup. So cute. I seriously could barely see this foundation on your skin, so it sounds perfect for my taste :D At the half face covered I could see coverage, but once applied I just couldn't perceive it anymore. Makes me want to choose this over the water fresh tint.. I support the comments below: all in Chanel foundation comparisons video. We need a fresh guide! I bought this last month, I am 49 and I also have dry skin and I love it plus it’s a perfect skin match for me which is so difficult to achieve. My other Chanel favorite is the Vitalumiere aqua they’re not at all similar but they’re both pretty amazing.
