Love the look of this bag! I’m trying to decide on my first (and perhaps only one for a long time) Chanel bag. I can’t decide between the aged calfskin reissue or a small caviar classic flap, which would you recommend? I also don’t drive so I would be commuting and I’m a new mum so I guess I’d need something fairly durable and understated in case of getting caught in the rain etc

For your needs I think the aged calfskin reissue is the best. Especially since you'd be commuting so something understated is best so you wont turn too many heads! Its really tempting to get the small classic caviar flap though especially since its your first chanel bag (i'd always recommend a classic CC for a first), but based on your needs it seems the reissue fits the bill. At the end of the day you just have to weigh out which is more important to you, the classic CC chanel look, or the functionality of the bag? Once you've decided on that then you have your answer!

Hi Trisha! Have you ever tried on the 227? I’m debating between the 226 and the 227 and can’t seem to get a good sense of the size difference between the 2. Would love to know your thoughts!

Yes I have! The 227 actually isnt so bad but it would be more of a day bag for me. Its also still wearable crossbody which is a good thing. Similar size to Classic Jumbo but can be worn crossbody. I feel like the main diff from 226 to 227 is that 226 can be worn from day to night. I dont think I'd be able to bring the 227 for an evening out unless its just a dinner.

@@LL-et3yk Not at all! It gets heavy, yes. But definitely not unbearable. The Fendi peekaboos still top my list of heavy bags to carry 😂

@@TrishaCamille I ended up finding a great deal on a 226 in GHW and I’m in love! I find the chains to be so much more comfortable than the ones on the classic flap and surprised by how light the bag is in comparison!!! Ty for your help! 💛

This a beautiful bag. I love it on others but it never drew me in. I just prefer the classic flap. I think I prefer it to shout at me for the price. Lol If I did go for it, I would prob get a mini size. Love the minis

Haha true I forgot to add that as a con of the bag, the price!! 🤯 For something that isnt so obviously Chanel, its a big price tag 😅 Definitely go the pre-loved route for this one!!
