No, what made them shoot was when two cops got hit by a car that was also attempting to obstruct the arrest. You can tell because they didn’t start shooting until the two cops were hit. This went from 4 guys intimidating and threatening officers to vehicular assault, which by the way when you put cops in a life-threatening situation, they will, and have the right, to shoot you simply out of self-defense. And just guessing your next point will be: “But the car was driving away”, sure, just like it was right before it reversed into them so how would they know it wasn’t about to happen again. I’m a CG viewer and usually agree that cops behave out-of-line when weird things happen, but this situation was actually handled fine other than that initial cop ramming them and then just going silent for a moment allowing the situation to spiral as CG decided to take action and kick his car.
