If you haven't been using the low levels to your own ends all these years, you've been seriously playing wrong. I always spam invite prospects and get them running around with me, and I always treat them as if they were expendable. The moment you go back to pick one up, is when everything goes wrong and the missions don't get completed. Sure, some of them move on... But you can always invite more. 😉

Hey, it's something i experimented with while trying to be a friendly player sometimes after i pretty much had nothing else to grind for, and man, some of them are terrible gunners, some are terrific, but every single time, they're having a blast while they're annihilating anything that moves, including other players, which caused me to be hunted for a bit, but nothing unmanageable. Definitely give a low leveler a ride in your tank\apc\heli, both of you are gonna be having a blast, of course, at the expense of anyone who crosses your path.

Was never a plane guy but PvP was the peak of gta. Helicopters were just straight up forgotten by Rockstar, the Hunter and Akula are some of the best to use and most fun to use if you're in a fight without deluxos and a mk2

Both are still good for fighting those. Akula more difficult if in sight for deluxos mainly because running homing rockets due to easy dodge and no countermeasures. But for both you have way better climb then those two makes it very easy to dodge MKll missles and out of range for deluxo lock on. Just hover above and drop bombs, tilt tail down then fully up and spam barrage/ homing rockets, or you can try to catch their circle.

Getting good with helis made me a better pilot in general. And learning handbrake turns helped a lot. Sparrow and Buzzard are good for grinding, just wish the Sparrow had skids like the Buzzard for softer landings. Or that we could use the Sea Sparrow from the Kosatka. Akula and Hunter are top tier too.

Akula is super fun because of the off the radar. Its ideal for sneaking up on griefing oppressors and straight up mince them to pieces with the rotor blade. Worked especially well in bad winter weather 💪

Just started gta again 2 months ago. Had my friend buy the akula and put heat seekers on it so I could see if I wanted it, I’m a diehard pilot in every game and with this chopper I’m a weapon of mass destruction. Was only level 60 annihilating level 5-700’s who kept grieving people. No one would know I was there before they were blown up and by the time they respawned I was over the ocean waiting for them to get distracted again and sneak up at night to do it all again. The element of surprise is the best thing ever in that helicopter. Paired with a pilot like me you become a god.

Played GTA V from launch to about 2021 I think. Buzzard was my legs in this game and I destroyed in it. What you now feel about the railgun is what I feel when the homing launcher was introduced it also completely killed dogfights for a long time. Being able to call the Buzzard in instantly with CEO at the time was incredible too and the number people I successfully chased under bridges was phenomenal

Great video, but one advantage the MK2 DOES have over the Sparrow when grinding is how quickly it takes off. On some missions, getting into the sparrow, waiting for the blades to spin, and to actually take off can be hairy. That being said I'm 100% with you, I hardly use my MK2 at all. Mostly only when the sparrow is on cooldown. Flying helis in GTAO is absolutely great, and I would have loved the game to not introduce things like the MK2 that made helis too easy to kill most of the time.

That's actually a good point on the Mk2 that I've never thought about, the instant takeoff. With almost every other vehicle, particularly aircraft, you have that startup, which encourages players to maintain distance, also giving anyone they're fighting time to prepare or stop the threat asap if they're too close. Meanwhile Mk2 is just on and woooop. Great observation!

I feel like it’s an unpopular opinion but I love the annihilator stealth, it’s tied for my favorite with the fh1 hunter, but I just love how clean it looks when painted all black, and it handles very well for a helicopter and the rappel feature is actually great when you have other players that can use it. I basically just use the annihilator stealth for most grinding and use the hunter when needed

i’ve been playing online since 2014 and when the savage was originally introduced, it was insane. however the buzzard still existed, and not many people (including me) knew about the super easy trick to dodge missiles in helicopters… also it’s worth noting that while you couldn’t buy the Lazer, people would steal that thing so fast if you used something like the savage on them.

The Savage was 2 mil and good at killing. The hydra was 3 mil and fantastic at killing. The Lazer was free and even better than the hydra. In my experience most people opted for the later. Hence lazers being a problem with early gta online when the only counter was rocket spamming, getting your own lazer, or bst with the heavy sniper.

honestly I think the sparrow is on of the best solo helis against ground targets, it is a small target its fairly easy to dodge missiles and railgun is hard to hit because of the glass. It was the first vehicle I extensively used for pvp

And the Thruster, yes unrealistic, but that's a jetpack not a rotary-wing Edit: it is mounted on the VM-22 Osprey, so no longer in testing, but in-service

I have the reputation in my group as *the* helicopter pilot. I own a Hunter and a Buzzard, imo the Buzzard is better for grinding (it can land in more versatile spots thanks to its smaller size and better handling), while the Hunter is good for close air support, seek-and-destroy missions, or getting around the map because it's faster. Both vehicles are just a joy to use and fly, and I LOVE helping out my crew while using them because they're amazed by and respectful of the time I put in to learn how to use these vehicles well. And then a mk2 just exists and my entire role is void.

Back in the day when I was still active on this game I always used the Buzzard despite having every vehicle in the game. I just liked how it flew and the fact that you could spawn it anywhere instantly right in front of you.

Before the Hunter got released, I used to be a Buzzard gunner in a MilSim group. The Hunter was (one of) the last vehicles to be drip fed in its DLC and before that, it was only accessible in hangar resupply missions. People did not yet know of its potential, but I knew that with the unrestricted gunner camera that it would become the most fun coop helicopter out there. As the first real Coop helicopter, It allowed both the pilot and gunner to fire their main weapons without conflicting. It had armor which allowed for extraction in case of being hit. It had countermeasures AND it was not a Pegasus vehicle so it had better spawn points. It was a complete upgrade over the Buzzard in terms of coop ground support. It was fun to be one of the first Hunter pioneers that would obliterate everyone like never before. It took a long time for people to realize its full potential and everyone knows about it now, but back when it first released it was crazy. To my trusted pilot who was too broke to buy the Hunter for himself (or any vehicle for that matter), I hope you see this message. It was the most fun I have ever had while playing GTA.
