also a fun trivia: the song bin wrote solo for the noesy album, "sorry, i love you," ended up topping the khiphop chart (i think last 2 weeks of august) lol. some tried to question it, but genius korea defended it by saying sorry, i love you is actually classified as melodic hiphop.

Yeah I love this!! I'm already into k-hip hop but I don't know everyone and I'm curious of who you're going to name for every K-pop rapper you'll bring in this series! Well Justhis is hands down my favourite k hip hop rapper and I see the similarity in writing with Changbin but also the aggressive delivery, but yeah less than Changbin! Gwangil Jo is amazing and I love his delivery! And also, unrelated to his similarity aspect with Changbin, I like his speed raps more than Outsider's ones because of the flow. I didn't know Piri so I'm glad you mentioned him, I'm going to check him out, he sounds like a rapper I would really like. The K-pop rappers I'm most curious about in this series are Suga, Han Jisung, RM and Jooheon.

you highlighted his speed & aggression & used that to make your comparisons, but what's kinda missing for me (& what not a lot of people talk abt when they talk about changbin since they usually just talk abt speed again & again) in these comparisons is changbin's diction, how he enunciates every word in a bar/verse.. no matter how fast, how unique of a flow he has, you can decipher what he's saying every. single. time. the slump vid, from one take, is one of the best examples for me. every single syllable is distinct & so clear, even in that vid where he's rapping in japanese. that's what's missing for me in the others. i can't take the "fast" rapping where so much of the meaning of the verse gets sacrificed for the sake of speed & so many fast rappers sound so weird like they have this speech impediment except that they're just putting it on it as an affect. can't stand the stuttering inhale exhale style ughhh. that's what set's bin apart for me, more than the aggressive delivery. he raps hella clear. i do agree w the likeness between him & justhis's writing though. makes me excited to think about how much more changbin will flex his writing once he can work on a solo project & he's writing more for himself, or for him to deliver, instead of for the group. can't wait for him & jisung's mixtapes.

I dived into those three rappers after seeing ur video and Piri hits me right away! (Already subscribed to his channel haha) Oddly “speed” wasn’t the reason I fell for Changbin (I just love his aggressiveness and the way he delivers, always hits into my soul kind). Love Gwangil Jo as well, his rap hits deeeeeep, felt so much emotion going on when listening to his works, and I love it when rappers spit their hearts out. Didnt feel too much for Justhis but surely will listen to his works more later on. Thank u so much for this and yes I’m looking forward to more of this series!

Dark Adaptation, Gwangil Jo's debut album, was released last year & I listened to it as soon as it came out. Multiple Korean music review sites put it on their end-of-year lists, and I believe the KMA's nominated him for best rap album & song. It's a really good intro to chopper-style Korean rap: a little over 30 minutes, around 10 tracks, with this dark, heavy, aggressive atmosphere throughout that makes it perfect for working out. If you're not into that sort of thing or you want something a little softer, I'd suggest Outsider. He is an older artist, but most of his music uses orchestral beats & plays up the drama & intensity of his words really well. I've heard a couple of his albums and I think Soliloquist is his best. And JUSTHIS? He's my favorite Korean hip-hop artist, period. Fits on so many beats: dark, aggressive trap ones like Diablo, melodic ones like on Moonlight, jazzy, boom-bap style ones like SM58 and the new Nafla track, Run... There seems to be nothing he can't fit on, and he goes just as hard (if not harder) on his features than on his solo material.

I think the k hip hop scene would have stimulated some of them to challenge themselves, I'm thinking particularly of Suga and RM who are great rappers and two of the best in K-pop but in last years, especially in BTS songs, they aren't doing what they are capable of or showing big improvements of which I'm pretty sure they are capable of. And being a big fan of theirs (Suga is my favourite) I'm a bit sad. Even if in D-2, when Yoongi is doing his thing, he's better than in BTS stuff(I mean except his solo Shadow) and he's making hip hop music I feel like he hasn't the stimulation to get better.
@Librarian24063 жыл бұрын
@@MorePara8 this is true. In khip hop they would survive becuz of rap only cuz that is wut will make them grow there..but here it isn't just abt rap right...so I guess their grind over this particular art they practice would be more over there, hence bringing out more of their qualities of rap...it was nice seeing ur view on this^^ hv a good day!

@@Librarian2406 exactly but also because they would face the reality that yes they are good rappers but if in K-pop they are two of the best while in k-hip hop they wouldn't be and also they would learn from the others. The only thing I knew that KPOP idol rapper have a limit on their words like they can't curse directly since they are idol , they must be a good a influence , I mean KHIPHOP has no limit , they can say whatever they want .. but talking about spitting words , the flows, the bars, etc. I DON'T SEE KHIPHOP is always on another level, a lot of KPOP idol are better than KHiphop.
