What the hell prompted you to give Dash a 0/10??? Not even an NSWER, but there is no way anyone can hate on that song this bad

Personal grief with the producers of Nmixx. I listen to progressive music outside of Kpop ... yknow, revolving time signatures, genre shifts, tempo play ... etc.. some really really cool stuff that makes music interesting to me. Nmixx (not the girls ... I adore the members. But the producers specifically) consistently try to push this "mixxpop" concept since debut.. Which just feels like extremely lazy writing to me. There just seems like there's no actual effort in making a coherent song that shifts genres.. but instead they write two completely different songs & mash em together with a 1 bar or less shift. DICE is the epitome of this for me and has become a meme in my streams since I complain about the song writing of that tune all the time. So... "DASH" ... I gave it a "0" because it felt personal. The song is actually written with some creative foreshadowing involved. The vocal layering in the intro & prechorus is very clever ... but especially the parts at 1:18 in the MV & 1:42. The part at 1:18 sets up this almost Jazzy/synth aesthetic for literally a second. Which in theory should tease the listener like; "OH WTF WAS THAT??" type of reaction. Get the sound of that in the back of their head for the changeup that happens later to a full section of that sound. Then the 1:42 part teases a transition ... where it slows down the melody vocal line so that it ends with the start of the hook instead of needing an extra beat of the harmonized "run it" to carry it over. WELLLLLLLLLLLL, this is all really cool and sets up the changeup in advance to tease you. You have the full sound teased as well as the type of transition that's gonna come. COOL RIGHT? no. Nope. Not at all. The changeup is the same LAZY style of a half bar of "Nmixx changeup" without any real transition to a completely different song that has nothing to do with the original one. Like? Don't get me wrong, I'd take DASH over DICE any day of the week but I felt so personally attacked by the producers to where it finally, after these years, seemed like they truly wanted to make a fully thought out progressive kpop track but NOPE. IT'S THE SAME OLD "HAHAHAHA LET'S PUT A RANDOM SONG IN THE BRIDGE AHHA WE SO QUIRKY COOL". -_- So that's my little rant with the reasoning of it being "0". I have genuine problems with the producers JYP hires for Nmixx.

@@carkpop The thing is I agree with you about being mad about how JYPE handles NMIXX as a group and personally I think having "changeup" as a group concept is a horrendous idea that stifles creativity and makes the group a one trick pony per definition. It is especially frustrating as imo NMIXX has the most talented GG lineup of their generation (shown over and over again by their covers) and it's only bc of JYPE garbage in-house producers, that NMIXX haven't caught their footing yet. But that is why Dash is an exception to me. I don't think that the producers foreshadowed a changeup anywhere in the song, but I agree that the changeup feels like an afterthought. The song feels like it was written without the changeup in mind and it was just added, bc NMIXX's garbage concept required it. But it's position in the bridge, it only lasting for ~20 sec and the rest of the song being as good as they are made it able for me to overlook it. That's why I couldn't comprehend why you, or anyone else, would rating Dash with a 0/10, but saying it was because you felt personally offended by being baited by the song is somewhat understandable, even thought I probably wouldn't have done the same. I've had a similar feeling when listening to Snooze by Agust D, as the preceding interlude hyped me up for a worthy So Far Away & Dear My Friend successor, rich in emotion and expression, through a strong, howling e-guitar in the instrumental and a powerful feature chorus, just for the actual song to feel like 4 and a half minutes of pure mediocrity. But while my personal disappointment was though the roof, in the end I still rated it at a D-tier (indifferent) when doing my Yoongi tier-list as the song isn't inherently bad, just underwhelming.
