You basically got the reason why Bin wrote this song, he was struggling and kept his emotions to himself because he didn't want to burden the other members, until it got overwhelming and he decided to write it all as a song and trust us all with his feelings, it was him finally opening up and sharing his burden and in the process help any of us who feel the same way.

changbin is genuinely one of the most emotionally intelligent people i have ever seen. he writes tracks with so much meaning and power. he pays attention to his members like the older brother he is. he always knows what to say to encourage someone, for example when he helped felix get more confident in his korean, when he helped hyunjin get a clearer pronunciation in rapping, when he helps chan no carry all the burden of responsibilities alone. outwardly he doesn’t seem observant, but he genuinely is, there’s no one who knows these guys better than him. people don’t appreciate him enough especially in the kpop community, sadly looks matter a lot for your talent to get recognized in the first place. changbin is extremely attractive to me and basically every stay, but he doesn’t fit the beauty standard. i really like this man and the person he is as a whole.

Hi Teddy! Thank you for your reaction. Bangchan is singing in the background with him, so he's not alone. He sang this on May 18 2020. So I think he's doing well. Your right. Just writing this track and working on it with Chan is proof that Changbin has taken that step and opened up to someone. And Chan's vocals joining in at the end adds such a hopeful tone to the song. They teased this track back in December of 2019, I believe shortly after Changbin wrote it. A lot of the members were having a really hard time back then, this was shortly after Woojin left the group. HAN had to take a break for a few weeks for his social anxiety and Hyunjin broke down on stage afraid that Stays would leave because they were no longer 9 members. But within the next 6 months they all seemed stronger than ever and were beyond excited for their comeback with God's Menu, I don't think they've ever been so giddy and given so many spoilers as they did back then. Changbin has seemed quite happy for a long time now, and in their recent 2 kids room series he is by far the most in tune with the other members and understanding everyone's personalities and unique relationships with each other and making a conscious effort to be more open himself, he really has a very healthy mindset. He's the rock of the group, and he's no longer keeping his suffering to himself. I absolutely adore this song. I held my breath without even realizing it when it first came out, moved just by the emotion in his voice, before pulling up the lyrics to listen again. I have never related to a song so much in my life, it really articulated my own inner thoughts in a way that I never could, and I found myself hanging on every word. I often listen to Streetlight for comfort. This song and Changbin will always have a special place in my heart. Also, the blue tree project for mental health depicted by the dead tree and blue paint in this video is also shown is Stray Kids' "Ex" music video, where Changbin once again has blue paint. Each of the members represent different mental health issues.

I’m sure lots of people said this, but I want to put this out there. Stray Kids are very open about topics like mental health, Han being the most affected by it because of his social anxiety (he’s doing much better now but there are videos of him breaking down as soon as he got out of a crowded place at an event, his main lifeline is usually Lee Know because he matches well with his no nonsense attitude), but other members have issues too. Chan lived the hell that is being a trainee for 7 years, not actually sure of making his dream come true until he debuted, making friends and losing them like nothing, he put up walls that only came down after a long time and didn’t trust himself to get close to trainees in fear of being left alone yet again (also consider those 7 years were spent being brutally scrutinised by an industry like kpop, overanalysing any possible flaw and making up insecurities for him). Because of this he’s extremely careful with his members and especially Felix since they’re both Australians and share parts of their experience more than others. Now, Changbin... he may be the rock, or backbone, call him whatever sturdy thing you wish, but he’s exceptionally sensitive. He’s perceptive to an insane level, noticing every minor detail of the dynamics they have in their group, and he got a hard time for various things. Many comments were made about his appearance, both when he was skinny and now that he’s the buffest of them all. You can tell by his reactions that it bothered him, and a-holes seem to never tire of attacking him. Yet he’s such a kind soul, maybe the most reliable for Chan when he needs a shoulder to rest on. You hear his rapping, piercing through you by sheer power, but he’s just a guy barely into adulthood too. I get why you were so moved by the song

One of my favorite. I discovered this song towards the end of last year as I became a skz fan last year. When I heard this song it spoke to be with out me even knowing the lyrics yet. When I finally looked up the lyrics 🤯 I felt understood. It had been a rough couple of months and it helped me finally alleviate my heart of everything I was keeping inside for along time. I felt understood. I always have to be the dependable one, the strong one in my family I’m always there for everyone else and it’s hard. I was finally able to realize I needed to get my ass back to therapy and take care of my self. It’s ok to not be ok but we need to reach out and ask for help. I love the way Changbin writes his lyrics always speaks to me. I love 3RACHA Chan and Han are amazing too but Changbins story telling style has my whole heart.

Changbin is considered the "mom" of the group. He imparts a lot of wisdom about emotional maturity and good communication skills to the other members and keeps tabs on them to make sure they are safe and healthy.

As others clarified, Chan is singing with him on the choruses (and started the second chorus -- 8:00 in your video -- on his own). Though not listed in the credits, Chan mentioned once that apparently Hyunjin is worked into some ghost vocals, as well, but being ghost vocals, they're there creating an effect rather than standing out like Bin's or Chan's, so it's really difficult to separate them clearly. (No one ask -- I didn't make note of when he said it; I just remember going "Oh?" I think it was in a Chan's Room, but no guarantee.) Changbin's better now. This came not terribly long after an incredibly difficult period for SKZ (and would have been written even closer to that period). Due to both his personality and his position in the age rankings -- he's the middle child of SKZ, with two age levels older than him and two age levels younger -- he's always positioned himself to act kind of like a go-between for the younger and older members. He takes the whole "elder brother" thing very seriously and tries to bear everything for the five maknaes and make them feel like he can protect them, while also being the youngest hyung and feeling like he should support the older ones and not burden them. He's spoken about all of that before, but he also specifically spoke about this song and how it ties into that. He said that just making this song made things better for him because it released some of the pressure and helped him reconnect by sharing with others what he'd been feeling. I suspect he also learned from this period and how he went downhill so much for a while from the repression and silence, because these days he practically has a soapbox labeled COMMUNICATION that he steps onto at every possible opportunity.

Loved your reaction and opinions on Changbin's song. It's a very deep and meaningful song which was so powerful to connect with the Blue Tree Project here in Australia. I work as a teacher and have seen many students over the years lose their battle with mental health. We joined The Blue Tree Project as a school around about the time this song came out and the correlation was beautiful to me. The more mental health issues are normalised in the community, the more we can support people in avoiding tragic choices. The Blue Tree Project is especially important in rural communities in Australia where mental health issues still hold a lot of stigma. It's definitely gaining traction and I'm so grateful to Stray Kids for helping to spread the message. On a different note, please just react to whatever you want to. The background vocal is Bang Chan, the leader of StrayKids. This song always makes me cry. I can listen to this a thousand times and never get tired of it. It's so beautiful and moving. I agree with you on StrayKids just being "for you" because I feel the same way. I have no hate towards any other kpop bands, in fact, I like a few songs from each of them and they are all very very talented. However, StrayKids is the ONLY band that has really gripped me and made me love each and every song. There is just something about them that just "fits me" and I've yet to be disappointed with anything they create. On top of that, their personalities are just so genuine and I can really feel how much they truly appreciate their fans. It's truly so heartfelt and not just lip service. This is one I've been waiting to see your reaction to and I genuinely love it a lot! This is my favorite song my Changbin. I think the lyrics are just incredible. I know it isn’t Stray kids, but I think you’ll like so far away - suga, jin&Jungkook from BTS. The lyrics have such a powerful message just like this one!
