Stump jumper is what I know the round thing that your blades bolt up to. I also like how that brand had a hole in the deck to allow access to the nuts on the blade bolts. I see a cutting torch gettin fired up in the near future on mine and it to will have an access hole.

The bolts are not metric. A 1-11/16 socket fits the bolts. You can find it a Northern Tools for $24.99. Dewalt also make one. Rural King sells it for $18.99.

Could the extra bar be added for balancing?

I would've bought a socket. Even need it again you'll have it still. Gotta change my blades out on ours as I broke one of them yesterday. Old old blades on a really old cutter. I'll post a video on my install.

I know that disc as a stump jumper. Did you check the bolt in the pto shaft and gear box? I always put a shear bolt in. 😃

I believe that cracked plate is called a stump jumper or something similar. It’s probably designed to protect the deck in case you hit a stump. Picked the name up from other videos shown removing the blades. Believe I would definitely repair or replace it. JoeB

It'd be a good idea to tether the PTO shaft cover to prevent it from spinning.

If it were me I'd feel better knowing those cracks were welded. Someone before must have hit something causing the blades to be out of balance causing the cracks . . Nice mower 👍

It’s just a shield to make it jump over tall obstructions. It serves no other purpose and doesn’t support the blades at all. It’s more or less a useful decoration.

Dude! Did you ever stop to think the the blade nuts are probably metric instead of standard?

Good god I just looked and didn't believe my eyes until I saw this video. Those blades are a size of a machete

A machete can’t hold a candle to the size and weight of these blades.
