I got people favoritism my shop every day and thoughtbitvwould take off but. enter the fail sounds..... I closed it around 6 weeks later. Now with AI. Faghetaboutit. Worlds of difference. Things that would take weeks can be executed in a few minutes. I want to catch up and give comments as I go. You look soo much better in your natural hair color. I did not recognize you at first!😊

I like the story about your Grandma’s way of tidying up! I might try it to clear my stuff, lol. Change is good; can you possibly record what steps you’re taking to get your shop ready on Fourthwall to give us some ideas of what we need to do to open our own shops? Thank you for being authentic and for all the work you put in to make useful videos for us! 😇

I think my grandma is truly the star of this video... She's def the star of the comments to it LOL I have a full "how to make a shop with Fourthwall" tutorial that was on Patreon, but I think some things have changed (improved) since, so I will probably doing a new one with a demo shop just to show all the steps. and thanks for the compliments, it means a lot
@nancydrewandthehardyboys23 күн бұрын
@ Grandma stories tend to do that, lol; I have a few of my own from my mother’s experiences; unfortunately, I didn’t have the opportunity of knowing my grandparents as we moved from Europe to Canada when I was two. I look forward to the new updated video and you’re very welcome! I really am grateful there are some KZbinrs out there who want to provide good content for people and don’t just want to make as much $ off them as they can; nothing wrong with making $ of course, but when that’s their sole focus, then the really useful content goes behind an expensive paywall, lol. So please continue your videos because they are very much appreciated! 😇👍

I would love the new type of content. I find what you do inspirational and I would like to start POD and it is very easy to get overwhelmed.
@MeyTribeАй бұрын
If that's the case- i think you would mostly benefit from the "database" I wanna create this kinda overall look- what is print on demand, and from there- you select an option you wanna check- and there's a blog post on that with tips and related videos. kinda like a big map with smaller roads :) But if you have to start with something without ever doing it before- find a simple free marketplace and start uplaoding, watch tutorials.... But don't expect to sell- just do this to figure out what you like to design, and what you don't.

Hi Mey! I love all of your content and appreciate all that you do for this community. I struggled a bit when you were only on FB, (the ads are obscenely invasive) so I am super relieved you’re back on YT. You helped me a lot with pod beginner content when I was full of fear to post anything. I got passed that, and got stuck in a mid marketing phase, however, your recent videos on using Pinterest to boost SEO, adding a blog and Print-full with my own store on my Wix website I’ve had forever as only a gallery. And just recently you helped me to see I am most happy when drawing and creating graphics and illustrations for product design . Your content and “it’s no problem” attitude showed me there is a path to happiness plus potential income. Thank you & stick around, you just may help me conquer the next level where I finally start that KZbin channel I’ve always wanted but chickened out of making public. 😊 sorry this was so long. See you inspired me to write something! !ol

I am enjoying this video. I am a rambler and multi-passionate too, so impressed that you kept this video to a reasonable length 😀. A monthly design pack with a short video about how to use it would be wonderful. It would keep my scattered brain interested and productive. I tend to spend time researching and learning, and then run out of time and mental energy to actually create. Cleaning - I prefer to reset my home daily and keep it highly simplified. I have decluttered a lot, and it helps. Digital stuff - photos, videos, design files - need a good clear out. I will do that over the winter. Ps. Love the new microphone
@MeyTribeАй бұрын
Rambler love !!!!! And yeah, I was thinking exactly that for the bundles... for example in Feb there will be a bundle that includes easter/spring elements and i will show either how to use them for a design, or for social media posts, But I need to see if that won't be too much... I feel like one of the reasons, maybe an unspoken one, for closing the current shop is that I find myself designing for it more than I do work on my own POD sites. I feel like I am totally gonna start from scratch even with my own stuff in 2025. I need that reset after 7.5 years of POD when everything changed, and I changed... And thanks- i love it too :) Just need to figure it out with the light settings haha

I love your videos: the personal aspect, the business aspect and the design aspect. Can't wait to see all the plans you have come together. I am a crochet and DIY blogger with multiple blogs, shops and KZbin channels, and I just wanted to share that I would be nowhere without my blogs and the revenue I have been able to generate there with my ad networks. I also love how organized I can be with them, and pack them full of information to make them the best resource. KZbin is so fun for me and a different kind of community vibe, but I feel like my blogs are where I have the biggest impact with makers, and not just those with handmade businesses, but for makers at any stage. You have such beautiful designs and so much excellent information to share, and while I see a lot of your info being valuable to those with businesses, I think you can touch makers outside of that too expanding the connection with your community. Perhaps sharing DIYs for things that could be done with your designs or printables created with your designs, like cupcake toppers with the image of one of your owls, etc. I love your database idea - "ultimate guides" are just an amazing resource, and you have put together an impressive library of videos for them. Overall, I guess I'm just trying to say I like that you're starting a blog too, and that I highly recommend them. I can't wait to see all the new changes you'll be bringing and wishing you all the best!

You do you as you always have, I follow you because of this. I love your honesty, authenticity and commitment to us as your followers. I have struggled so much over the years with this and any guidance from someone I trust would be amazing. I have learned so much from you over the years and look forward to learning so much more. And change is good, I too have made some changes these last few months. I closed my Etsy store to focus more on my Payhip store but listening to you tonight I may be closing that as well, as I don't want to blog. I guess change is in the air, you have me thinking and re-evaluating my decisions as well. I have been so all over the place these last few years with nothing to show for it, so any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Love you girl

It is lovely seeing the very authentic, unscripted YOU in this video. I cannot thank you enough for all the content that you have put out over the last few years. I used to binge on How To videos for doing POD. Then, one day I realized that most of the content creators were just selling apps, or some other affiliate service and I was getting hooked in by their ‘click-bait’ titles. It has taken me what seems like FOREVER to figure out exactly what I wanted to do with my art. But your videos have been there for me every step of the way. You have been very instrumental in equipping me to get my business up and running. And I NEVER have to fear that there is an ulterior motive behind your content. Your channel is now the only one that I watch that has to do with POD. I only watched one or two of the AI videos you did, experimented with a couple of things you recommended, and just wasn’t crazy about it. But I love the ‘humanly’ created focus. I put a disclaimer on my business page that my products are original and not AI generated. I might use it someday, but not any time soon. I think that following your heart of narrowing your focus to concentrate on providing resources for equipping creatives is fantastic (I hope I understood that correctly). And I wish you well and hope that the transition goes smoothly!

I sometimes use this channel as a podcast while working on my store, and I find it both relaxing and encouraging to listen to ☺. I used to follow like a hundred POD channels, but I got sick of the whole 'get rich quick' speech. Like, I know some people achieve that, but it's probably not the majority. And I'm not trying to become a millionaire; I just want to make a living from this, in a country where the minimum wage is like 250 dollars. That video you made asking questions to three different people with different stores and different incomes really put everything into perspective for me, for example. Now, I only follow 3 or 4 POD channels, and this channel is one of them. That's because you (and the others I still follow) keep it real. It's comforting to hear that most people struggle when starting their first store-it means I’m not alone in feeling that way. It’s comforting to know that it’s normal to feel lost every once in a while. We all seem to feel that way at some point. It’s also reassuring to learn that facing struggles, problems, and setbacks is expected and just part of the journey, instead of feeling like a failure for not being 'perfect' at this business game we’re playing. I hope your next project goes well, and thank you for sharing so much valuable content with all of us!

I started an Esty shop and I realized after a short time that people don’t want so much of what I was selling which was what every etsy pod seller is creating…generic stuff that creates noise, clutter and overwhelm that as a creator you have to overcome and as a buyer you have to navigate and process. Anyway I feel like creators are chasing numbers, more followers, more empty designs in your shop, more views, more sales and it goes on and on and on…get rich quick yada yada yada. I’m over the hype. I’m done wasting precious time! I’ve done a lot of soul searching and have decided to follow my passion, my heart and I’m starting my own platform in Jan 2025 with my own shop, blog, YT channel. By the way, you rambling is you trying to process everything and you finding your path. It’s a good thing! Anyway, I want the things I create to have a deeper meaning and I want to share my passion and grow a community and just have a deeper purpose. Perhaps this is what you’re searching for too!

The day I got the notification for this video, I was literally thinking how great it would be if there was a data base/blog that gives you a roadmap for how to start a POD/online business. That’s amazing! I’ve been so all over the place and having to back track as I pick up tidbits of new information in random places. Very overwhelming. And I’m still trying to find my way, dabbling, but what I first thought I wanted to do is not what I would want to do now. Thank you for all that you do and I’m definitely looking forward to what you have to say, because you always provide valuable content, in my opinion! And, I love that you get how everyone is different and would love to hear more about working from home with a chronic health condition because I’ve been trying to find a work from home for a long time that I can actually do, and I thought POD may be away to do that, but I’m not sure. I still go to a physical job, but somedays…many days…it’s uncomfortable, but I’m fortunate that I still can make it work and do what I need too. But, the future of where I work is also uncertain. Many people are getting laid off. So there is that. I’d love to hear about your digital nomad journey, too! Sounds interesting! I’m proud of you for evolving and growing, being true to yourself, and sharing with us! ❤

Your comment is priceless! I was planning the database by topic, but now, reading the word "road map" I kinda wanna do it differently, based on where a person is in their journey- navigating from skills & passions towards what to do, rather than just topics out there. and hey, "all over the place" has a lot of value- you're testing things, you're exploring, and even if nothing comes out of what you've been doing so far- you're learning so much !! Sending you a big hug for going to work with chronic issues, I know how hard and challenging this could be... even frustrating. But - you're keeping a good head, and keeping on going- cause we gotta take care of ourselves! So many people in that situation are the "best" fit for the gurus who want you to take a loan to buy their course cause you can already quit your job and you'll be rich in 3 months... and I'm proud of me too... weird to say. But i'm proud of all of us here, keeping it going with everything we have on our backs

One of the main reasons I like your channel, Mey, is that you seem to stick to your own style and way of doing things. Sometimes I get depressed with the channels telling me "jump on the coquette niche and make lots of money." Gag! I don't relate to it, and I won't be interested in designing that stuff. Other than having an infusion nurse for my Crohn's disease, I don't care about the nurse niche! I have quirky, whimsical idiosyncratic tendencies, and although the niches are not that big, I have several that I understand and will be passionate about designing for, and maybe would like doing other content that relates to my interest and affinities. Yet sometimes I doubt myself. You help me get out of that self-doubt mode. So, keep following your heart and some of us will follow because we admire your authenticity. You do you!

This is a really great video. I stopped my pod store a couple of years ago because the only selling product was a tshirt from a comic, and I wasn't happy doing someone else's design though it was fan/cosplay. Originally I wanted to design shirts with typographic designs on it (Double Dagger Tees) but want sure how to find that market. My Etsy store is still open and I still have a black throw pillow with a white ampersand that gets 1-2 views but no sales. Maybe tshirts was too limited? Anyway, I think I need tips for a plan that doesn't require making 3 social media accounts, a blog, and posting content multiple times a day just to sell pod.

I started like, 5 comments already lol. I dont know what to say that doesn't sound like rambling! I have followed you for years, and love most the fact that whatever you're talking about, whatever content you're making, you've ALWAYS been 110% real, and yourself. Never about the numbers or the views or what's popular for the sake of popular - always about being authentic, and building up your community. I don't use FB, and I know para- social relationships are bad, but I always feel like you'd be a cool friend to grab a coffee or tea with, because you always make it feel like a community of help and authenticity! Ok...i am rambling. Drat! But anyway, i will follow whatever you do and wherever you move to, and look forward to the new site and blog and direction of channel! Its always cool to see new aspects of your perspective 🥰 Now to go stock up on some clip art and soon-to-be-vanishing graphics from MeyTribe! Love and prayers for your new chapter! 💖🙏🏻

Wix has the blog the community feature and a database feature using their CMS. The CMS is a spreadsheet with your data and then you can display it anyway you want on your website.

Mey! Thanks so much for sharing your transition moment! I understand your feelings perfectly I have I bipolar disorder an history of hoarders in my childhood and I struggle so much to keep my space and my business clean! I look forward for your new contents of business planning, especially the Pinterest/website one. Send you tons of good vibes from Italy🇮🇹!
@MeyTribeАй бұрын
It's amazing how coming from 2 different places you can end up with the same result! My mess wasn't hoarding or bi-polar, more my spinal issues that prevent me from cleaning up for more than a few minutes (though i am getting better at it), as well as ADHD so my computer is a MESS LOL I am kinda looking forward to the new content as well... have a list of videos I wanna get out there before starting the new vibe in the new year. I hope you'll like it. One major video i wanted to do was about managing or creating an online business and working from home when dealing with any kind of chronic illness, mental or physical. I feel like that is something def not as "searchable" as the latest keywords for Etsy, but something that could truly make an impact and actually help people no matter what they do. Sending love back from Bulgaria :)

@MeyTribe I watch every single video you post they are inspirational and comforting, just like chilling on the sofa with a friend chatting about plans and wishes! I'll definitly wait for this specific one, because I suffer from a severe shiny thing sindrome, and at the end of the day I feel exhausted but without a sense of accomplishment 😭

Mey! I Love your videos and all the fun things that you do and you teach us!! I have been quiet but loving it all, and now I would like you to know that I am behind anything that you do for sure. I feel like... New Year - New Store is the way to go. It's something we can all look forward to because black friday and cyber monday are extremely busy times and people will be all over the place with the sales. So have your sales like you are doing now, and have your 'Grand Opening" in the brand new year. My opinion. As long as it's You, we will all follow you there!! And I Love your Grandma's cleaning method!!

Is there a permanent mark that the algorithm leaves on a channel that can effect it years later? If you start as an artist but then go into game development and programming for example. Wonder if it's better just start new at the root and get a new channel going.
@MeyTribeАй бұрын
No one actually knows that... but the beginning is hard... I have seen this with a youtuber I followed that changed her content... When you upload a video- youtube first shares it with people who are subscribed to you, and if they don't wanna watch it, KZbin tries a bit more, but not much, So when you change to a content that perhaps 50% of your subs would not watch- youtube thinks the video is bad. With time it balances more. I will not be starting a new channel, as the content is related to this one, and I also want to have the history here. For example, if i make a "higher hierarchy" video on the concept of selling print on demand - people can watch the POD playlists I already have on more specific marketplaces and suppliers :)

I would suggest you think about what kind of work you can do for a long time that is going to make you enough money to live first. I used to make databases and that job is very time-consuming and gets boring really fast. Also, most of the apps already have their own tutorial database. I feel like it would be a waste of time to make another similar one on your website, Instead, maybe best to answer questions that people ask a lot and have a hard time finding answers for. Tutorials, answering questions and business tip videos are generally what people watch and enjoy. It can't be a miss.
@MeyTribeАй бұрын
First, I appreciate looking out for me... However, I do believe my situation is different. technically I can retire, I get disability pension, and I don't need to work. Creating databases can def be a boring job- based on what database it is... This one is MY database- meaning - creating a place to organize my knowledge and business advice. I doubt anything similar exists, unless someone created, for example, a guide of printables to sell, with each one pointing to a video I made about the topic. And that database, the reason behind it- is exactlly what you said- focusing on answering questions. I guess I spoke more about this in past videos, so it wasn't the full picture here. But I do appreciate your concern
@Kris35521Ай бұрын
@MeyTribe Nice. If you are financially secure, then I guess you can go for whatever you want. I feel like the most common thing is that people figure out too late that what they want to do is not going to make them enough money for living, and I thought I should mention that first so you don't end up with a low income. This is an interesting topic for a video if you are up for it, explaining the difference between make something that is going to sell and something you like making. Can't wait to see what you end up doing, and I hope it all works out.
@MeyTribeАй бұрын
@@Kris35521 Thanks,. though, again, I feel like the main issue here was the word "database" as I was referring to it as a blog- about the content of this channel. As a way of answering questions that people ask :) That is indeed an interesting topic... Though I feel that in my case it would be kinda ... same? I mean, the designs I sold the most of- were the ones I designed for myself LOL But I will keep that topic in mind, thanks :)

@@MeyTribe You know one thing that always interested me about your shops, is where does your traffic come from? Do people find you on youtube mostly, pinterest or facebook groups. I know you mention here and there that you post on pinterest and facebook, but I cant find any video where you go in detail about your trafic and marketing. And I do believe that your situation is unique one, you attract a lot with your personality, most people running small businesses don't have that advantage.

I'm not sure if there's less of a need for your clipart now. I think it's very subjective based on individual creators and what they need. In my case, I never really had a need for that kind of clipart because it's not relevant to the work I create. I tend to buy from other creators if it's something that I can incorporate into my own work, either for the art itself, or as a way of displaying my art on social media or on products. So I might be much more likely to buy neat brush sets for example, but only if they are compatible with apps I use, and unfortunately Procreate isn't available on Windows, so I was never able to utilize any of your brush packs. Regarding people being able to make things themselves with AI, there are a lot of issues with AI, both ethical and practical, so there are always going to be people that would prefer to buy clipart that a human actually made. However, it's also completely valid if you want to retire products to make them more exclusive. Just don't do it because you're not sure if it has value. Who knows, maybe you could even bring back some of the current products from time to time on a limited basis. Completely up to you! I personally would love to see you go deeper. I'll be looking forward to videos on Human Design and how to know if you're on the right path and all of that.

When I post patterns to Spoonflower, I view other shops. Repper, Repper Repper. I see patterns made with Repper everywhere! So I hide all my Repper patterns and wonder what to do next. Which is why I haven't been very active on POD because I don't think my designs are unique. How to get over feeling like I am one in a million other pattern makers using the same tools. Also, Which of your videos do you share the best sock provider?

1 hour every night ??? oh wow, guessing you're place is bigger than mine :) If the place is organized these days I might tidy up a bit for a few minutes a day, The issue that led to the current mess was being sick, as well as replacing storage units, and having piles of ordered merch in cannot tidy- before making a video about- which I couldn't cause I was sick. Also, the whole "fit a filming set" into a small 1 bedroom apartment LOL

Hey dear, Mey. Here are my answers to your questions: 1. I LOVE the idea of you creating a big database (I have spent A LOT of money on monthly subsrciptions for apps I am not using, and I am sure many have.) 2. I also love the idea of you making monthly bundle on the new Meytribe shop with designs that showcase things we should focus on that month and then dissapear - when I think about it, it is probably a brilliant idea (in comparison to CF being so popular and our designs can't really be that original). 3. I would love to see your Google Adsens as well - you are so amazing for being so open with your audience. FWI: OMG I love your granny's advice. I need it sooo much in my life as well, you have noo idea. My laptop is a huge pile of mess with a bunch of started projects, ideas, brainstorming ideas... my ADHD shown in one black box. 😃 4. I also LOVE the idea of 20 business plans so soooo much. I was hoping for a content like that, wheb we commented on your Patreon. Actually, I love everything in this video. I missed seeing you in this cozy atmosphere where you talk from your heart and connect with us. Also, would be very happy for you to make videos on your life in Bansko, what it's like to be an expact and digital nomad...and hey, would love to meet if you happen to come in Skopje, again, sometime soon. ❤😊 P.S. Congrats on your new mey tribe site! I am sure it would be amazing and I hope it will bring you a lot more money than the old one. You deserve to have it all, girl. You are such an amazing old soul.
