Hi, when you installed the new diesel filter it is not needed to do any additional procedure like draining or filling diesel filter, ? just replace, hoses and wires connections and run ?

Selpro E S, yes you do have to drain the remain diesel, then you should fill the diesel into the filter. You can see other part of the videos.

Thanks for uploading this video Chiung Shui. I have a 2011 Kia Sorento with the same motor. The filter is in a slightly better place on the firewall. I take it you disconnected the battery. Do you need to remove the pump fuse and run the starter to remove the pressure from the fuel lines first?

davow8, well I just film during the process, but seems not necessary to remove the fuse, just need to bring a small bucket to catch the fuel during the removal of the filter cast.

No need to remove air, just turn key to ON position and wait for about 1 minute for the fuel pump to fill up the filter

right, its difficult to access, need to remove several parts, it takes about 20 mins at least. poor disign.

I have a Kia Sportage 2.0 diesel 2016 , a little bit easier ...but still a pain in the neck ....not very maintenance friendly these fuel filters . ( mind you RAV 4 diesels is not better )

What a hopeless design. Proper car manufacturers put the diesel filter where it is accessible in case you need to change it on the road. Imagine getting bad diesel in this car and having to change the filter yourself. Just think how much money you waste on labour whenever you get your car serviced. All that time to just get to the filter. Will never own another Hyundai.

That mechanic works very badly. first use a tool that does not work, not looking for another, to remove the clamp, then disassemble the filter on top of the plastic trim of the car, to scratch it, the creeps have made me see it, and that is the hyundai . I see him do that in my car and I kill him.

I need to do this on my 09 Santa Fe DB4E. Does the lines need to be bled for air once re-installed?

There is no need to bled the fuel line. Just turn the key "on" 3 times. Automatically the fuel will pump the line.
