That part is available at your freightliner dealer, and at chrome shop mafia in joplin, mo.

Not many years ago I worked for a farm service which had freightliner for fertilizer tender trucks. We replaced a couple of the top handle pieces. Don’t remember if we got to them from freightliner or aftermarket but they were still available.

You can definitely find that door handle upper panel new. Most are made by dorman. I like the “Freightliner” in the handle itself which it wont have. So it wont look original.

Hi Gordon . . . Looks like you had a little struggle but in the end you got it done but did you happen to repair the door hinge - I bought a huge assortment of those retainer fasteners long ago from amazon and man they sure did come in handy just as the job you had to hold the cab door liner in place - good video - keep'em coming
@57bagre4 жыл бұрын
I did the hinge a number of years back before I started KZbin. Fun job.

I got a replacement upper for plastic piece from Freightliner cuz I was shutting door and ended up holding the door handle in my hand so u should be able to give them the last 6 of your Vin and they'll order u a replacement correct color and everything.

It's no fun until the latch breaks and you are stuck with having to roll the window down every time you want out! )

I don't think I would ever let it go that far. Thanks Will.

@57bagre4 жыл бұрын
I don't need to do king pins on my truck. If I did, I would do that. I don't think you want to do that at home though, better to have it done.
@PatChapp4 жыл бұрын
I worked in a truck shop for years and we rarely did king pins in house. Spring shop in the area could do it in half the time, no point in us doing it. They had a press that they cut down to fit on the truck, I imagine most spring shops would.

Looks normal on freightliner. I hope a bird won't come inside my truck door one day,that's how primitive those trucks really are.
