You could have used hose clamps to avoid fuel spillage. Also, that driver is not brushless. Fuel and sparks don't go well together.

Just did mine. Man be ready if any of the hoses get stuck in place. Spilled fuel everywhere after it finally came free and had to take shower breaks in-between each hose and some time to make sure I didn't get too high from the fumes

I have never repaired that model but when you lift up the car and the fuel tube/pipes come from the left side that means that the fuel pump is on the left side. And there are other models that have it the other way round. It all depends on the fuel tube and where it comes from.
