Thanks for sharing this I just got a 99 e320 in with a large evap leak and before I looked up SI boom this popped up haha. I have a feeling if I drop that plate I’m going to see a cracked hose in the venting. You’re the man
@NoNonsenseKnowHow4 жыл бұрын
No problem! What are the odds. Sounds like I guess the algorithm was working properly this time around. I guess I'd have to say this is probably one of the easiest fuel pumps I've ever done in my life. I was pretty shocked to see how easy it was especially being a Mercedes
@weldingjunkie4 жыл бұрын
NoNonsenseKnowHow I know right! I was going to put this on my channel once I found the issue as well. I was already subbed but what are the odds crazy lol you ever see a large evap on these? There’s not much to the system it seems. I’ve yet to pull up Mitchell but I’m thinking it’s that canister next to the pump maybe?

@@weldingjunkie cool, thanks man just subbed back. Nothing comes to mind off hand. I assume you already checked the gas cap. Sounds like you you probably have a broken hose somewhere.

Thanks for the concise and no nonsense instructions. Do you think it's unusual that he needed a fuel pump at 104,000 miles? I think what usually ruins them is getting clogged from junk in the service station tanks. That's why I like to go to high-volume stations I am thinking of replacing mine proactively at 155,000 miles in my 2000 E430. Although I think it should be good for at least 200,000 miles

Turbodiesel E-Class / w210 most likely very different fuel pump layout. Go join the w210 Forum @ www.Benzworld.org and ask there + also in Turbodiesel forum. Tip: find out which models & years your engine was popularly installed & ask in that forum. Why: no / very few USA w210 had TD engines installed so you won't get help from USA members. Overseas ones mainly. Wikipedia should list where your EXACT turbodiesel MB engine was used. Ergo ask in that Forum (for engine related inquiry) - Longtime w210 forum member & owner. My handle at Benzworld: 2000 E 320 White Wagon Send me a pm once you join up !

Here is a lesson I learnt the hard way. This is applicable if your fuel filter has 4 hoses on it. These fuel filters have a fuel pressure regulator built into them. There is no regulator on the fuel rail. DO NOT REPLACE THIS FUEL FILTER WITH AN AFTERMARKET FILTER. It could cause hard starts, fuel consumption problems, error codes for misfires. Its not worth it. Just go and get the proper filter
