Btw, looks like .dds is just a file extension, so you can use any image you want, convert it to .dds online and use that! doesnt even care about image size or aspect ratio, but will tile it. it does break with super large images tho

@@SpookyPirateVR well i did and it removes it entirely with you floating in white space, apparently it isn't just an image but the entire models in those files

@@letzplayosaurus I did a small amount of research and found that you may be able to edit the .dds file to make your own custom background by using a program like GIMP or Photoshop (Photoshop needs a plugin, maybe gimp too). Thinking of trying this myself when I have time

They really should do a whole overhaul of the PCVR Oculus environment to keep it consistent with the Standalone experience IMO. Hopefully they are working on something.

@@PerkinsVR Why would they ditch PC support? It costs them very little to support it, and it is a feature used by many very often. Especially with the new Quest Pro, people with enough for the headset will most likely own a capable PC.

you can make your own colors too in paint and just convert it to a DDS file online

That's a lot of work going in to the folder and renaming shit just to make the background darker. I I do appreaciate the you for making this video but you'd think the dev's would think to make it a simple option in the setting menu.

Because of a bug that didn't load the homes, i never knew there where homes, i buyed another quest 2 but nothing, until i found a video on yt and i found the oculus diagnostic tools in a pc folder, i changed some variables etc etc bla (oculus support stuff) and then i had a home env. i loved it, learned the A2 drone cat license there, and even if i was alone, it was home....first we had a homecoming, then a far(t) from home, now is no way home...sugarberg wtf are u doing? Is this the Matrix u wanted to create and control? Really? If i die i will see more colors than this white place, what is it? Paradise? Your brain? Or the ideas that u have for oculus? (Oh sorry it's called meta) 😂 sorry rage moment

This is since 2021 and across 3 different PC and 2, quest 2, so i never seen an Home Environment exept quest's homes. Today i logged myself with another account and everything changed, the windows looks more roundy and black and less grey and squared + home environment.
