for realz. they way they portray the cable as if its proprietary. Its just a usb c cable. I have plenty lying around. Including one thats 15 feet long. That said Im very intrigued by the KKCOBVR Q2 Adjustable Head Strap. It has replaceable 18650 batteries. I like this feature because one can keep charged batteries on standby when the installed pair run out making extended sessions more obtainable. And accepting replaceable batteries will insure in theory long use of a product vs a proprietary battery that could decrease its charge over time.

Pixels per display pixel override is super sampling, which is totally different than what your graphics slider does in the main Oculus app. The graphics slider allows you to use a lower resolution than your LCD panels use. All the way to the right is using the full resolution, and to the left is lower than that. Even 3090's have trouble with full resolution, I find it best to let the app set this, or only bump it up a couple notches, for best performance. Then set the pixels per display pixel override to 1.2 or 1.3 at the most, to sharpen up your image. The Encode Resolution Width is the same thing as your graphics slider in the main app, and doesn't do anything now that we have the graphics slider. Leave this at 0. You got the other two settings right.

I think a huge issue why vr isn't as huge as companies like meta want it to be is because they're not very user friendly or easy to get into. The performance required is ridiculous and not everyone can afford a grands worth pc. Also the fact you have to have alot of different software sometimes to do certain things. Might want to warn folks some of these tips are outdated. A lot of issues with Airlink are due to people tweaking their settings in the diagnostic tool. Furthermore many of the tweaks previously needed in the diag tool are now properly managed in settings. Specifically the bitrate setting should no longer be manually manipulated as that has been shown to cause issues with Airlink. Set it to zero. Similarly use settings to tweak resolution.

Love the channel man, you’ve been posting such great info for newbies into oculus. Question, do you have any recommendations for third party head straps that come with a batter backup?

best strap for Q2 seems to be boboVR M2 according to reviews

if you get "oculus tray tool" it automatically manages all the usb power settings, as well as offering some other useful utility for putting a lasso around zuckyboi when he's on my pc.

Hello everyone kiwi cable works but i found out that my didconnect problems were caused by nvidia geforce experience, uninstall it
@BronyDestined Жыл бұрын
Oculus's cable is UDB-c on both ends because a USB-c port on a computer can output about three times the amperage, allowing your quest to stay charged while using or at least lose charge VERY slowly. If your computer doesn't have a usb-c port, you can use am adapter and get slower charging. This is better than making the cable USB-A (regular USB) and giving EVERYONE slower charging.
@Guinea543 жыл бұрын
Do you recommend using the link cable over something like virtual desktop? Also have you used any mods to improve FOV on the quest? I have a reverb G2 right now... The picture is really good, but i find it a bit wobbly and hard to get into focus.. plus the FOV doesn't seem that terrific.

In my experience, the link cable is much more reliable than connecting wirelessly. It really depends on how fast your wifi is

@@duckduckgoose8049 using the new oculus air link thing I can actually run games extremely well from the headset to pc wirelessly. I do have really fast internet though, so with bad internet air link isnt an option, at least for now

@@blizzit1211 Internet is irrelevant. You can use air link without any internet at all, it uses the local network. You just need a decent 5ghz AC router.

@@blueicicle932 - Because he doesn't actually give you useful information, nor does he explain it in a way the average person who doesn't know would understand. Then he gets very condescending in the video, assuming people are stupid because they don't know. He does all that, and you kids try to hype him up as being some great guy who helped. Overrated.

Just a heads up to those who are uncapping the usb power usage, make sure it's not running through a usb hub that isn't externally powered, as it could cause your computer to literally fry itself. Happened to me and destroyed one of my RAM cards and left my computer bluescreening on rare occasions. Would not recommend

Pro tip to include in a future video? Get a magnetic data and charging cable, Make sure to get/recommend one that does actually do data Qualcom 3.0 protocol (I think needed). Basically they have a tiny USB-C (others too) connector that goes in normally and its magnetic, The cable end also has a magnetic bit and you just need to get them near each other an POP charging and data.. The IMPORTANT and PRO TIP is this will help some people avoid breaking the port, as any excess strain on the magnetic couplings means it unplugs rather than potentially damaging your charging/data port..... Sure someone else has said this before but they are very nice for pretty much anything that needs/uses usb-c, micro usb, and even shitty proprietary Iphone/apple interfaces.
