I Love Freeform Locs❤❤ But my hair grows outside my loc, which mean I need to retwist every 2 to 3 months. I Love the Art of Freeform Locs.

You're locs are Gorgeous! Personally, I love all forms, too. I've got fine, medium-low density hair and have had several sets, trying to figure out what's best for my hair (Sisterlocks professionally installed twice, several sets of self installed microlocs, and, now small traditional locs @ 120 for close to 2 years; longest I've made it). I love natural kinks, coils, curls, etc., but have had a time learning my own hair through the years. My current locs are perfectly imperfect, when before... every line needed to be neat and in order. This time, I'm letting go and living it!

For me it’ll be freeform. I’ve had locs for 8 years and I only retwist about 2 or 3 times a year. If I could do anything different I would’ve never bleached my locs multiple times 😩😩😩. My locs like 6 or 5 inches above my butt due to having to trim a lot because of bleach

With retwisting 2-3x a year that’s pretty much semi freeform, love that! Girl I thought about bleaching mine before but I was too scared about it falling out 😩

Hey Nat! Love that freeform vibe you are rocking! I would not change anything about my journey. I have small traditional locs... about the same number as your locs. My loc goals are about half as long as your current locs... or mid back bra strap length. Thanks for uploading the video. Always great to see you. ❤

Hey Natty Ann. I started my locs in April 2020 in the beginning of the pandemic. I thought I would've started with instant locs back in the day. I did not them as small as sisterlocs but I also didn't want to go through the process. But when the pandemic started I didn't want to be in the salon so i started my locs myself and i was maintaing them myself till sometime in 2022 or late 2021 when everything calmed down with the virus. I only have 53 locs because I didn't want to be in tbe mirror all day doing my retwist in the beginning but i eventually found a loctitian and been seeing her every 6 to 8 weeks since 2022. My health took a turn for the worse in December 2023 and i had to resign from work. Im going to free form from now on but maybe go to the salon once or twice a year. My last appointment was week but im done for a while. I really like your in those braids and that style you did was sooooo cute. I won't be mad if you started a freeform journey with me.

The pandemic kinda showed is how important it was to learn how to do our hair and other beauty services just in case we couldn’t make it to a professional. I’m sorry to hear about your health declining. I pray that you are healed and healthy from here on out. Take care of yourself and do whatever you need to make it easier on yourself. And girl Ima think about freeforming a little more before I take the plunge lol

I did research for 2 years before I installed my locs I have color pencil size locs because of my fine hair texture & because when they get longer maybe waist length I don’t want my locs hurting my neck which I see most people with bigger locs have that problem I am happy with the size I choose will never change even if I was to cut them off & start over they would be the same size

I did the same but my reason was i get migraines so the weight over time is a no for me so i have a mix of small and medium due to different density over my head of course. But id definitely freeform if i could. I think its so sexy 🤭
