Yes, maybe long lined rayon skirts would work for those of us down south Florida and tropics. I am going to seek clothes like this. I am convicted because the enemy will say it is too hot for these modest clothes. Yet, Our Father clearly states cover up. It is black and white. No grey areas. I totally agree with dress reform. I also believe we should avoid the extreme example one church sister told me the dress should literally go all the way down to cover the ankle and I totally disagree. I think people read the Bible and Sis White messages and then take it to the extreme and this is wrong. Should we wear gloves to cover the hands since it is part of the extremity? Should we show our feet? What about wearing of hats in church? I grew up in Adventism and at the time 90 percent of women wear hat in church. There was an elder at my church and he flatly stated that no woman is allowed on the rostrum without their head covered. If you are on the rostrum even if you are a young woman you could not go uncovered and these women would borrow someone mantilla and throw over their head before they go up there. This elder was so strict and if you violate any of this he would actually take you off the platform. This elder quoted all of Sis White readings. There was a time that on Sunday you see many women wearing hat in church back in the days and even in some Sunday church today. My mother who is a life long Adventist and believe in the spirit of prophesy has always worn hat to church. She would never have hair uncovered. At home when she prays she cover her head. She said angel cover head before God. As strict as Save to serve church is I was surprised to see their women not wearing hats. I believe God give us wisdom and we need to ask God about this, dress modestly but wisely without going to the extreme otherwise we will be soon wearing hijab looking like those Muslim or catholic nuns.

There something though that I am challenging with and its within the fabrics. It is so difficult to find linen and cotton that to my daughter is comfortable. Both my children are uncomfortable to certain fabric materials- they would either feel that it's itchy or not warm or cool enough. Living in a hot state most of the time, it can be uncomfortable wearing,

A lot of women and men like to show off the flesh. God Almighty had work on my and converted and convicted me to where no pants, he just removed that spirit of showing off shape. Dress reform must be a willful choice and it can be a difficult transition- ALSO, most men in the SDA church do not see or value women who dress as Reformers- honestly, dress reform can make a women feel that they are ugly. The idea of modest is done in love and a willingness to be surrendered to God. It's a process of giving one self to Jesus Christ. May the Lord help us to reform because of a deep LOVE FOR GOD and not as works! May sisters, keep praying and asking God to touch our hearts to be obedient through a desire to show forth the glory of the Lord of Hosts.

It can look good, just look at some of the styles out now. they are wearing granny dresses, I think that the look could be another word used. I cant stand pants , i wont say why here, But The wide legged pants are acceptable, Coulottes and Peluso pants. In the winter add blamers. I made mine and your long Levi skirts work well. Just not tight or showing your shape. As far as then men go , your to please the Lord not them. If a man is of God he will appreciate the look. Just dont look weird. Long skirts and dresses are the style now which helps, Blessings.

Sis Henriques, thank you for letting God use you to speak on this matter. Many Adventists are ignorant because church leadership prefers to be silent than displease members, and many are ignorant because they do not read EGW’s writings that give in depth counsel pertaining to dress. Some do not understand the importance of dress, and still others prefer to be in rebellion and simply hate dress reform. I see many negative, sarcastic, and downright rude comments, so my prayer is that you will “encourage yourself in the Lord your God” (1 Sam. 30:6) as David did when his men wanted to stone him. A man’s foes truly will be those of his own “household”.

Finally I can understand why they quickly became ashamed of their nakedness. It never before made any sense to me. I assumed they were always naked but never considered clothed in light. However if made in God’s image why not also clothed in light.

What I see as the issues today are 1) clearly identifying yourself as a woman contrary to the blurring of sexes, 2) keeping our selves covered so as not to divert attention to our bodies, 3) allowing for proper circulation without constricting and tight garments, and 4) allowing for formulation of vitamin D by exposing skin to the sun, as part of the health message.
