I’m in literal tears. I never knew this was a gift. I always thought there was something wrong with me. Why couldn’t people see what I see? I remember before I ran to Christ, I would go clubbing and drinking. I now know my gift from God kept repeating one thing in my head while I walked around. I felt like I was in slow motion. I kept hearing “turn on the lights, take away the drinks, what do you see?” Over and over again. I knew that all those who were there were in pain, and they wanted to get away from it. I can tell within minutes if someone is trust worthy with it not. Sometimes even in seconds. I can pin point the good, the bad, and what people are doing wrong in situations. I always thought I loved psychology because I wanted to understand people. But that’s not true. I love psychology because God gave me the gift of understanding people. The first day I met my husband I knew I loved him. I knew he was honest with me. I knew he wasn’t lying to me. There is no one I trust more than him.

When you were speaking of your husband you said that you trust him more than anyone else. I have the gift of discernment. Before I was a Christ follower I was called an empath. I feel what others are feeling. I know the problem right away. People don't like that. I had that growing up too. It's super easily exploited by the demon oppressed/possessed. My dad fell from the faith and suddenly developed narcissistic personality disorder, something he never had growing up, and for 9 years i was his target. There were a lot of things that he did and his girlfriend and her kids did, as well as spirits I saw and fought that convinced me something was wrong. I wasn't the only one who could see it either. I don't live with him anymore, but I have been at such peace by being away from him. When I walk in his house or if he's nearby I can almost feel it. He used it to hurt me and make me doubt my reality but it's getting easier to discern between the physical and spiritual

My Pastor told me years ago that he had never met anyone with the gift of Discernment like me. It’s not a pleasant gift to have though. You know a person’s flesh nature in about 5 or 10 minutes. However, you have to remind yourself of their gifts to mankind too. You are always trying to find a balance between the two otherwise you feel guilty of judging others. I have this gift. Once I met this person this year. When she came near me I instantly knew she was evil. Her energy was just dark and evil. The one thing I was missing all of these years was love. If we anchor our gifts in God's love, you can't go wrong. God has helped me to forgive people, look on them with compassion and empathy while also maintaining the courage He gives me without it becoming callous and mean. He's still working on me but everything is better with His love and patience.

If I may share my own experience... as stated, LOVE was the missing ingredient, or rather, a correct understanding of GOD'S LOVE for ME, and once I began to grasp His sacrificial love, and realize what *I* had called 'love' was just trauma and selfishness in disguise, and I really took stock of all the harm I had left in my wake, I realized everyone who'd done me 'wrong' had either taught me something, or revealed something similar within myself, even the really painful heartbreaks were full of wisdom, if I would but seek it, instead of run from the pain and blame others, I was freed from the majority of my unforgiveness. The key to forgiveness, for me, was reframing the offense into GAIN, and realizing how damaged someone else must be to behave the way they did, because I was so messed up and dead inside, and hated myself for all the things I was doing, but couldn't seem to help myself... my mind was broken. My perspective so far askew... I was looking out for ME because no one else was. But God was. Anyway, I'm rambling. There's a book called "The Bait of Satan" written by John Bevere that really helped me gain deeper discernment in my own (and others') unforgiveness. I highly recommend it. God Bless! 🙏

I have the gift of discernment. When I was younger, I was naive and didn't really see the 'bad' in others. However, through several traumatic experiences, and lots of reading and formal study I learnt all about immature and secular personalities, the personality disordered, and recalcitrant egos... The Holy Spirit gifted me with discernment by viewing psychology in a spiritual perspective. I can now readily sense 'wrong' spirits anywhere, but, mostly I wisely wait for some words or attitude from them before I confirm. I am now 64 years old and my heart is burning with passion to see His Kingdom on Earth, that everyone would see Jesus for who He really is and the great love of the Father. I have the gift of discernment, I am also an introvert. Not sure if it's related but I think it is because I can "see" people within a few minutes of meeting them or sometimes just people I'm around and never spoke to them. My "feeling" are always spot on and are revealed sometimes immediately and sometimes weeks, months even years later. I've warned my husband about friends he's had for years that I've just met and I get a feeling that doesn't sit right with me or they are a good person. I guess that's why I stay to myself a lot and don't have many friends because its's draining. When I try to explain it people just think I'm stuck up or being judgmental.

I did. I recognize everything he has said. I didn't know that there are a few dots that were supposed to be connected. A lot of the comments that I have read so far, I can relate to. Because I didn't recognize the dots to connect I get really frustrated with myself. My experience is having a conversation that goes off in my head with the person that I just had an encounter with. Then I think to myself, why didn't I say all that to the person that could have benefitted from it. And again, should I go back and say what I was thinking? Then I just dismiss it. To me, this would be one of the many disconnected dots. I understand everyone's comments. I can tell when something just isn't setting right. I beat my chest with the side of my fist and then wait for the clarity of what I'm sensing that is not up to par. It truly is a gift from God. It happens in many ways for me. A feeling when I see in their eyes, body language and in just the tone of their voice. There are times when my hairs stand on end. I attempt to warm people I care about but most of the time, they dismiss me and they think I'm a little dilusional which i know where it comes from. Some, just don't see the warnings. 😢

I was in a situation with a narcissist whom will never tell the truth and I wanted to know some things so bad in order to make proper decisions. I prayed to God for the power of discernment and he gave me way more than I actually wanted. I suddenly saw everything that happened in the past 15 years. Small things that I questionned at the time and let go suddenly became clear 100% as far as what that incident really was. I really just wanted to know about the past 2-3 years and the power of what he gave me was almost more than I could handle but it saved my life. This was not a one time thing. This discernment has continued throughout our break up and I don't know what I would do without it. Pray people! It's the only thing that works but come to him with a heart that is true and ready to commit to him. The rewards are great.

God got you out of that situation. There was not going to be peace. I am going through a divorce right now. My husband was I Narcissist. At first, I couldn't believe a person could be so evil. I nearly lost myself trying to please him he was always mad. He would turn in a nice person sometimes. But it was like walking on eggshells. I'm glad God got me out of that situation. He threatened to hurt himself and other people, so I wouldn't leave him. I would have lost myself through a toxic marriage. Unfortunately, I was also married to a narcissist. You have to be really careful because certain occupations attract narcissists. One of them is clergy. You can really tell if you ask a question about scripture, or you don't agree with something they say. Watch the reaction. It's just like what your husband did. If a minister or a priest gets upset about a question, or speaks to you in a way where it is disrespectful that you would question their authority, run!

This is so me!! I know I’ve been gifted discernment because I’ve been doing it since I was a little girl! I used to tell my mom when we would go to certain places that I wasn’t gonna go into that building because there was devils in there. That’s the only way I knew how to explain it. I think it’s most important to mention that the gift of discernment itself isn’t necessarily given first. Sorry, but I have to disagree about the discernment, as a small child-- under the age of 1 years old, I talked to GOD daily. I have it. It's a huge responsibility, it can be lonely, but I feel grateful that the Lord gave me this gift. Constant learning. Growth. My favorite thing about this gift has been educating people who are scared of things like evil spirits, demons, or people who dabble in whichcraft, that these things have absolutely ZERO POWER! As I’ve been working with GOD’a discernment, I’ve been reflecting on work experiences. I have a coworker who says she knows everything and how it’s all going to turn out and it’s to put down when people fail and point out their mistakes. I am hesitant telling her important work matters at times because of how self righteous she is and embellishes how she’d never make those mistakes. When I try to relate that an individual may be struggling or lost and how I wish better for them, she’ll say “oh I don’t feel sorry for them… they do it to themselves…” makes having a manager at work be this way sometimes. I’ve been praying she heals and find a kinder heart. We shouldn’t judge. She even denied to me that gossip is a sin when I didn’t want to gossip because it’s sinful.

I’ve had this gift in a major way since I was saved at age 9. It can make people not like you. I have always been able to tell what type of person I’m meeting. Once I stood in a grocery store line behind a man who disturbed my spirit so much I switched lines and went over a couple. Two days later I saw this man on the TV, having killed his whole family and himself. I’m not sure if this is called discernment but I think it is, and that is that I can feel the feelings of other people and sometimes tell what they’re thinking to a degree. I’ve also always had premonitions in the form of dreams, many times things happening exactly as I saw them in my dream and I’ve shared these with family and they’ve seen them come to pass as well. I know when someone is lying and especially if they’re angry or depressed. It’s definitely been a blessing but it used to be painful for me because I’d be picking up the feelings of others so strongly that they would become my own, I couldn’t separate myself. I can now for the most part. I had an extremely strong feeling of something bad coming in the months before Covid and for months now I’ve been having that same feeling of impending doom but waaaaay worse. I KNOW that things are going to go sideways on many different fronts very shortly.

#3 is so me. I have a burden for the truth of the Scriptures and a "righteous indignation" when lies are told or evil influences try to destroy the church. I usually know which people are "good" and which are not. I get a physical feeling, like an electric current, usually on my arms when the Spirit is present.

This is totally me! I see things way ahead of time, or can see the "bigger picture" when others might not. I also can sense evil spirits in people. Question for you David: When you discern things and when you want to warn people, how do you get people to listen to you? Sometimes, we get categorized as "conspiracy theorists", "cynical", "paranoid", so when you discern things, how do you get people to LISTEN and BELIEVE?

be clear and concise dont get emotional, delivery and tone needs to be presented and in forms of questions rather than rattling words of feeding words they're not ready to receive. look at how the evil is doing it. wrapping it up pretty in a hyper trendy cause for benefit. people only care about their comfort and how it benefits them. show how what you're sharing is benefitting them and dontget so emotional or worked up over anything. plant seeds, the battle is God's and show with personal efforts and actions and love

@@PLeejo 100% and in every way we have train ourselves to handle our words with care and how we represent the Lord. farmers and gardeners handle the entire process with care and logic combined. when we sow the seed with intention of saving them from their own selves/this world... we're not as emotional/self righteous or eager to deliver clear messages whether it be the gospel or what's happening/corruption. the goal is to save and not to be correct or validated and i think most people get their messages lost in translation or rejected because of the delivery. we have to train ourselves to be good vessels

@@_deut6.9 i get to be mindful but the message is NOT to be altered to please men, which has become the goal for most. 1 Corinth 2:4 - "And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.". Helpful words yes but many, many equate the feeling of conviction to being treated rudely, callously cuz they feel uncomfortable or bad. You're gonna feel bad, uncomfortable if the Spirit and/or the word convicts you.

@@PLeejo when God approached Adam and Eve in the garden, he approached them with a question first, not accusation. I never said to sugar coat anything. In Isaiah, He reasoned with man-kind when never needed to. Its very frustrating going into detail with hard hearted stubborn beings. God in all of His wisdom was long suffering and reasoned and communicated so we're given time to comprehend. This is what I meant. I never once said to alter or sugar coat anything. The Word exists to nourish and give life, God is the author of life. we can't use His manna to wack them over the head, using scriptures to point fingers. and I've seen people do this often. Overly zealous in things they're personally struggling with or have over-come the same things therefore the delivery in tone/speech of God's good words are done in self righteous zealousness. God reasoned with man kind and we must sow seeds with care. Its all I said, I never said to sugar coat His Words. We can't use it to condemn others. It even says in the book of Jude to be patient with family of believers, we're called to make disciples. Just as now I'm saying one thing and you're hearing/seeing another when I haven't said a thing about altering scriptures. We have to reason, be slow to anger, share and communicate because the goal is to yield fruit. A parent yelling at their kids WALK NOW how can you not walk you're already x years old cant you see?! WALK! vs a parent showing, communicating, nourishing. It makes a big difference.

Yep, I have the gift of discernment! Have had it since I was a kid. I believe I'm supposed to use it for the glory of God and the edification of the brethren.

You are describing me rather well… I see negatives and positives. When I was younger, this gift isolated me because I did not like being around others. As I have gotten older, I am grateful to God and I ask for His guidance and mercy with the gift of discernment as well as everything else.

All my life I have been able to tell things about people and situations. People say I have the gift of discernment but I second guess that. I don't want to judge people wrongly. I want to care for people and love them like Jesus. But sometimes the discernment is so strong I can not ignore it. Thank you for the explanation it has given me new light on the gift. discernment
